Me on the 600 racing a bunch of bigger bikes. =) I am not a "drag racer" but the local strip has $10 unlimited runs fun night. Only my second time going.

This one has a 40-50 yr old guy hopping on a kids 1000 and smoking my buddy on his busa.

Thanks guys, please feel free to like, subscribe and enjoy =)

Some street riding and hopefully soon some road course action will be next.

Chase

7.13 @101. Most of them were 7.2's though.

My best launch of the day was against that busa (felt good I should say) and the bike got outta the line.

I am not a drag racer.. the numbers are just for fun =)

that looked like a lot of fun. i need to get out on the test and tune nights at my drag strip just to get my speed fix on my bike. what are the rules for wearing gear on your local track? full leathers?

SUPPOSED TO BE..

some sort of leather
boot
glove
jacket
Long pants and full face helmet.

Alot of guys are in mesh jackets, tennis shoes, etc.

I wear my full 1 piece, full boots, full gloves, etc. I respect my hide too much =)

Yah I did not even know I could do the picture in picture. It was my first time every messing around with it. Next time I want to try to get the gopro on my tank to watch my shifts. The few I could see looked pretty darn good. The only time I hit the rev limiter was when It got slick and I tried to hit it again. The video just kind of looks like I lifted, but I was a bit freaked out lol

What were your reaction times and 60ft times? Just wondering

at the tracks here ( being a 1/4) anything above 120MPH, have to have full leather, gloves and boots

I found doing this ( drag strip) is a cheap fun way to practice starts for road racing. the group here that races doesn't really let you practice starts. drag strip is awesome for that :)

I think I could pick up some more time on it though. I think I am still letting the clutch out too slow. I tell myself to just let her go, but I think my thought's and my actual actions are much different because that front wheel should be off the ground for a little while.

controlled launches are the key. i havent launched a bike before but if you can find that magic rpm to launch it without losing traction or doing a heavy wheelie then you are golden. im used to launching mustangs :)

I dont know for certain but the first time out I was launching around 8k. Then bumped to 10kish.. then got pissed hit the rev limiter and backed off a tad and let her go. It launches HARD but I need to get my clutch hand used to letting the front end controllably lift.

I just uploaded my buddies runs... not soo cool without the gopro.. lol

Your launches are pretty good. At least with the 600 you don't have to worry about the bike coming up much once the clutch is out like on a 1k bike where you have to feather it through 1st and 2nd (without a stretch at least). I think with a practiced launch you can get the 60ft down to the 1.6 range which should drop you into the high 6's. High 6 1/8th is good for a 10sec 1/4!

Yah it seems to be a fine line between launching hard and bogging the bike, etc.

I think my instincts are getting in the way of letting the front end come up more and getting a better launch.

I am thinking the $25 for strap would be one cheap mod for these little fun runs =)
