Trimming OEM/Factory decal

I'm planning to remove the factory red striping decals on the side fairings. On the K9 750's (not sure about other model years), I really like to save/keep the Silver R on the bike as it's raised lettering.

I've read on a few threads that it's possible to use an exacto knife or razor with a ruler to trace/trim around the GSX-R logo, then peel off the rest (thus leaving only the R logo on the plastic).

I'm afraid of pressing too hard and cutting into the paint/plastic with the exacto blade/razor.

Has anyone else tried to do this? What was the best way to get the cleanest/precise result that you wanted?

Yeah, it is a great price so I figured I couldn't go wrong. The quality is very good and the carbon weave pattern/shade looks great. I also found the fitment is excellent! I would highly recommend it.
that ebay posting didnt have a year...you think it would fit the 08? i dont see why not but you never know :p Shit with that good of a price i wonder if they have the front wheele fairing too, curiouse to see how much that would go for as the company i mentioned has it for about 300 bucks

K8 and K9 (and K10) are pretty much the same. Try this link;

and saw a listing for the front wheel fender here ($128.00):

I haven't tried and don't know anyone that has bought the fender but if it's anything like their hugger, it should work well. Maybe you can give us some feedback.

wow that is such a good price. well everyone will have to wait til after i get a power commander and dyno...which will be like 500 total so this would be a mod id do prob like 2 or 3 months down the line lol.

its real carbon fiber for sure tho right? its not plastic?

From what I see from my hugger - yes, it's carbon fiber.
nice, i think you should get the front fender first to tell me how it fits :biggrin hehe

^ i love the picture with frosty, classic.....i was gonna say it must be nice to be able to ride with christmas lights, but then i saw that you have a michigan plate (just like me)......so why on earth is that poor bike in the freezing cold???

That was the last time I rode it, November 29th 2010. It was 55° that day. That pic was @ Bronner's in Frankenmuth. They actually have those lights up all year. Just wanted a few pics with the X-Mas lights. Got a few more. It was a nice ride. Bit cold on the way home.

figured i would add to the collection... so heres mine..
