Ok so recently I was pulled over (first time ever on the bike) for my plate being mounted vertical under my tail. Unbeknownst to me that no matter how visable or clearly readable my plate was it has to be horizontal. And to top it off all my stock reflectors were tossed in the gargabe long before I bought the bike. So 2 fix-it tickets later...I decided to go all out and just redo the entire undertail. Went with a Hotbodies undertail, a no name plate bracket that I cut and bent to my needs, BoltFX plate lights, some bolts and washers and some safety reflective tape. Technically its still not "legal" but the officer was pretty cool, he told me as long as you have everything in the correct spot (meaning plate, light and reflectors) that I'll pass inspection. So if you wanna run a cleaner tail but don't want to get hassled because you removed your stock captain safety stuff...I highly recomend doing a little diy job and just scale them down like I did. Here's some pics...let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, and if you notice one of my plate lights is turned the wrong way...it was just to distinguish them while wiring. They work great but are a bit too bright to run two in my opinion. I only wired up the left side, so if the led ever burns out, I have and instant spare

I just replaced my taillight on my K1 750 for the K4/5 clear alternatives LED intergrated taillight. Looks really clean but now I don't have a license plate light. Was thinking about getting some of these bolt lights. Do they seem like a good product? They look really clean. Where did you order them from?

Sup motoxman, I'd definitely go with the boltfx. I've used a few of the different stick on plate lights and they all burn out within a few weeks. So far these seem to hold up pretty well and are plenty bright. In fact I'd recommend doing what I did and only hooking one of them up at a time and keeping the other as a spare. I'm all for keeping legal but with both its a little too much light. I got mine from my local cyclegear for $20 but they also sell them on their site Cyclegear.com and I'm sure most of the big name cycle shops have them.
