So I was approached today by a girl I know who asked if she could ride my bike I just got it 2 weeks ago and am a little leary about other people driving it but i was told that she's driven her ex's stunt bike a bunch and that she's a good driver so against my better judgment :hammer I said yes. So she starts it up and drives around the parking lot not 5 secs after starting out she dumps it while turning around... :suicide Luckily she was ok and the bike seemed ok mechanically. The shifter is bent (which I should be able to fix) the pegs on the handlebar and swingarm are scratched but should be ok with a little work so that isn't so bad. ok down to business the plastics on the left side (kickstand side) are pretty scratched up and the blinker and mirror are f'd (which I think I can get replacements for) so i'm going to try and get it fixed asap so I can get back to enjoying the summer and somehow make her pay for it since she's the one that dumped it...

What i'm looking for:
I'm looking at replacing all the plastics i've done some searching and checked out automarts.com and ebay and found nothing. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of how i can get new plastics. The reason I ask is because the bike was black purple and hot pink (I know I thought it brought out my eyes too) so I removed all the stickers so it was just black plastics other than the front headlight plastics and purple tank so I wanted to replace the front fairing? (Headlight plastics) so since the plastics are all scratched up I might as well look at getting all new (or slightly used) plastics.
Anyone have any ideas or recommendations? I'm sure i'm not the first person to wonder this but i've searched the threads and searched the net but came up with nothing so I thought i'd ask here. I don't know if newer plastics would work (i'm guessing no from what I can tell)
I was also thinking about full body vinyls just to cover up the scratches and most of the purple on the front plastic but i'm not sure if that would work either or if I can even get something for a bike that old.
Just let me know what your ideas are cause i've run out...
Sorry that was so long I didn't want to waste more time than needed going back and forth answering simple questions.

Thanks in advance!

Become a site contributor (a 15.00 fee) and you will be able to view the classified section once you have the oh-so prestigious little red "R" under your screen name.
I KNOW (wink-wink-nod-nod) you will find much, if not all you are seeking, there!

You haven't been clear as for your budget line.

If you want 'new' replacement parts, try here: http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/suzuz/GSXR7501993-95.htm

If there are no cracks and only surface scuffs, get a professional to do the bodywork (epoxy-based filler), repair what you have and get the paint-job you want all at once. Don't try to cover up the damage with vinyl, decals or other cosmetic surface treatments - it's about as unsightly as a band-aid and you ultimately won't be happy with it over time.

Alternatively, eBay has a few treasures from time to time, too.

If you want to do some 'custom work', think it through, but unless you possess the skills to do it yourself, don't hack the thing up.

Again, what you get out of it will ultimately be a function of what you put into it.

Oh cool I didn't realize when you contribute you get the classifieds. Nice little addition! Yeah she's a whore so she'd probably let me. My brother in law is going to look at it today and see if it's something he can fix and i'm going to pick up a new mirror and bilners today. It's really to bad the mirrors wear "carbon fibre" so i'm gonna lose like 15hp!!! :eek:hmy
lol thanks for the responses.
Hopefully this will be fixed quickly and I can move on to getting those carbs cleaned out so she's running real decent!

dood..first off..yeah, no one but you rides your bike..one of my friends dumped mine TWICE..yes i learned after that..NO ONE BUT ME RIDES IT..buy some bondo, do some sanding, get an airbrush with a big tip, buy some matching paint, get some rubbing compound, and some wax..fixed mine twice, looks as new..sounds like an easy fix..the bike i got was laid down, and was a nasty red/white..bondoed, and painted her gloss black with mettalic pearl clear coat..came out great..just take yer time..and hopefully you learned your lesson and so did she(if she is hot, i can understand why you screwed yerself on that one, hahaha)

Can you provide pics so that we can assess the damage? Youwould be surprised with what you can do with the right products and alot of patience. :punk
where is the "this thread is worthless with out pics" smiley?

If she didn't have her wallet open she better have had her legs open or at least made some oral restitution for the damages she did!
That's kind of what went thru my mind too, regardless of what she looks like. Retribution is a bitch. Just be sure to say, "Take it all bitch!" loud enough for others to hear.

+1 to Black.Lisle's suggestion.

If it can fix this...

Hey guys sorry about the wait. I got the pics here for you to see.
How bad does it look? I ordered the windshield today so that should be here in like 2 weeks it's not the same one it's just tinted but it'll work.

Here's the Left Side Plastics in the back the scratch is towards the lower left side. Doesn't seem to be to bad. (I hope):

Left Side Back Plastic

This is the left side plastics in the front (where most of the damage is:

Left Side Plastic Front

Here's an overall view of the left side:

This is how it used to look before the scratches (just a picture of the right side) Sad day...:

Here's a picture of the windscreen the red circles are where the damage is.
Sorry about the windshield I got hit last night with the smiley:

Damage looks to be minimal in my opinion. I would just get some bondo or other plastic filler and sand away. Then just you're choice of painting options professional or rattle can or something else in between.

As for the winscreen I could not see the damage due to the way the picture was taken. Could the scratch be possibly buffed out? Just a thought.
If that doesnt work replacement of the windscreen.

new windscreen, repaint the panels.. that'd be my solution. if you're smart about it, you can repaint the panels yourself and still get the same finish as factory.. won't cost a bomb either, just takes time and patience.

i agree with mdillon and ribbitism, if your on a budget but have access to a spray gun and compressor, dupli color's paint shop lacquer paint is fantastic for a cheap and quick paint job. 20 for the base coat and 20 for the clear coat, no thinning or mixing required. I used it on a buddies zx-6. Came out great

if you don't even have that, I've done some great jobs with a rattle can from NAPA.

It's all in the prep and knowing how lay down the paint.

Honestly I'm close to tearing off my panels and giving mine a fresh look and probably will go that route
