does workers comp cover that?
Sadly if it was in the US it most likely would. You can do just about any dumbass thing to yourself at work in the US and somehow come out financially "ahead". I've seen so many guys "get hurt" at work and then get a lawyer and wind up getting monetary settlements.

I just don't understand that shit. If you do something to YOURSELF at work it should be all on YOU. I can understand if some other dumbass does something that then gets you injured, etc. but to do something dumb and then expect to get paid for it. Only in the US of A.

The operator of that tow motor better thank his lucky stars that those trucks have sturdy cages built around the operators compartment or he would have been really screwed!

jobs that are inherently dangerous deserve coverage, regardless of who is at fault. get hurt on the job and you will change your opinion.

it is six one half dozen i work with a guy that got burnt on the job and it was not his fault but all his bills and his med was cover with workmans comp but he still is tryin to sue the company that that was doning the roofing but he did not loss any more from gettin hurt he sat at home for a month with a little burn on the back of his neck that left no scare or anything you can not tell at all that he was hurt but the main thing is he was not where he was suppose to be he knew that they was above him working do you think that is right

I am not trying to sound like an asshole, really. I can understand why there is a Workers Comp system. I know there are dangerous jobs out there and that unforeseen things can happen. But in a lot of the cases that I have personally witnessed the blame could have solely been put on the person and not on the company they work for.

For instance with this dumbass on the tow motor. I could see him using HIS insurance if he has an injury because of his actions (not operating the tow motor correctly). Now for one of his co-workers that are walking buy with a cup of coffee and all of the sudden because of this guy they get hurt or killed, that is where Workers Comp should kick in.

Precisely what I am talking about. Incidents such as this undermine the program.

In my case I have a busted back. I know it is because of my line of work. I have been with the same employer for thirteen years and through those years I have beat the shit out of my body. I have never claimed anything. I have had tons of doctor appointments, one surgery so far, probably twenty injections in my spine, etc, etc, etc. I never claimed anything.

I could see that if they paid my medical bills and things such as that. I have my own insurance that took care of that. To come back and sue because of what I chose to do for a living. C'mon.. that's bullshit.

I've known of people that worked for state agencies for one or two years and "got hurt" and wound up being under thirty years old and "retired" out of there jobs. Now some of these people collect there full retirement NOW. Not later on or twenty years later.. right NOW.

And they still work regular jobs that are more labor intensive than what they were "retired" out from. Now that is screwed up! And not to mention its everyone's tax dollars that pay for those cases I am speaking of.. bullshit!
