Just been looking and haven't found a whole lot for "street" boots as I would call them. I looked at some Frank Thomas boots, but they didn't have my size. Saw the AXo striker, TCX Xcube, and Vega Merge boots. Kind of like the Vegas but haven't read much feedback on them. I just want something to protect my ankle reasonably well that is somewhat "comfortable" to wear around should I need to wear to work or out messing around. Anyone find a boot in a shoe store that works well?

Thanks for the hits guys. I'm going at lunch to look at helmets and boots. I'm tied up between the Shark Rsi and RSR2 ($175 vs $299). I was looking at RF1000's, but the Shark really seemed to fit me better. Boots I haven't found in my size (13) anywhere local.

IMO, I would opt for a "race boot".. no difference in size, but there is a difference in protection. IMO, race boots are like have a HELMET on each foot. I wear the same boots for street, trackdays, and race.

Being a old man, I have found out through the length of my years that it doesn't pay to skimp on gear that is protectin my butt!! :)

Just the opinon of an old geezer...:)

I hear you and respect that, just doesn't work for me. I did see two guys on bikes with shorts and flip flops today. I just wish I could find some local as I hate to order something I haven't tried on.

Same here and I am happy with mine as well.
Great, as anyone posted any 'CRASH REPORTS' with street boots?

I know I can personally say what race boots have done and the level of protection they offer. I have survived a couple 100mph+ crashes, and several 70mph+ crashes, with any injury whatsoever to my feet. That is the high protection that race boots offer, and as far as wearing race boots on the street, I wear raceboots EVERYWHERE. As you can see in this picture..

Finally got them the other day. Man, I was shocked at the comfort walking around in them at work all day. I would highly recommend these as an inexpensive street boot that's the same price as some cheap hiking boots. My friend at work has turned into a riding gear junkie (nothing wrong with that). He just bought some Dainese Torque Out boots that are frickin awesome. They would make a great street/track dual boot. They fit under jeans as well. Very nice looking boot. They offer a Air version that's perforated.
