I sold the house and its time to move. The problem is that I am moving into a small apartment with no storage. I dont know If I should rent a place to put all my parts in or sell everything. Anyone interested in driving to Wisconsin for a truck load of bike parts?

I rent a storage unit right now because I moved out of my house a few years ago. The unit is big enough to probably hold ten road worthy running bikes or a few bikes and a ton of parts. I pay about $125/month for it. For the stuff you have you could get a much smaller storage unit if you decide to keep the stuff.

Depends on price and IF I can get permission from the wife....
Rule #1. Don't tell the wife - It's easier to ask for forgivness than it is to ask for permission.

Sometimes...

I'd go for a storage unit if you can afford to do so. The time is takes to collect all those parts again is premium, plus, it's easier to keep that stuff than it is to get rid of and then get it all back again when it comes to the wife's approval process. Once you start giving up ground it's hard to get back. And right now the market is great for people with money and projects, but bad for people without money giving up thier projects. If you think you are going to be getting out of it, or focusing on one project that's really gonna pop, then take what you need and cash out on the rest. On the other hand, if you are moving into an apartment now you'll still need storage for it all anyway, even if it is just one project but, even without the project you'll probably need storage for other household stuff anyway. If that is the case you might as well keep what you need, sell the rest, and share the storage with the other stuff.

Hold on to every part you can.Even if the excuse is to make a coffee table sculpture out of pistons and connecting rods.Do what you have to.It'll be much harder to find all these parts later.

Im starting to believe what the seniors here say about restoration takes time and patient.. its taking forever to come by any parts that you needed...
I would suggest storing whats worth keeping...

Time and patience for sure but I have run out of both! They are all 86-87 but no titles. I have one complete bike in primer that was driving before I took it apart for a "winter project" 2 years ago. I have a rolling frame with complete motor, another frame and 3/4 of a motor, a bare frame and several boxes of parts, all in average condition and body work that needs help.

KEEP those bikes and parts man. If you get rid of that stuff you will wish you NEVER did....

I moved to my new house 2-3yrs ago. Filled a 24ft box truck front to back with bikes and parts twice......
