i found this laying around and it followed me home.
You have the same problem I do cause it happens to me all the time. Cool bike, I always wanted to try one out but the opportunity thus far has failed to present itself. Maybe a potential track bike?

Long,if your planning on getting one,one of these days, youd need a decent rear shock, they are heaps of fun,but not real flicky, its one of those bikes where you have to push pull the bars to turn it,which isnt hard to get use to,unlike the VTR,which falls into the corner with ease.i miss my TL now and again.

Well, I would have but something else popped up first. Made a trade for this instead. Thinking it will look with some Lucky Strike decals and a little bit of red paint slapped on it. Not sure how the blue wheels will look, but I'll probably just leave them like that. Oh, that's not me riding, it's the current owner.

Just enough red to complete the Lucky Strike theme. I'm not going overboard. I also thought about painting it like a blue first gen, but I always thought the SRADs looked cool in the Lucky Strike colors.

And the TLR that Rawdon posted. Plus, the frame looks cool on the TLR, more so than the SRAD. And with the exaggerated tail of the TLR, the Lucky Strike theme might even look better. I need to try one of those out. Ever since I got my HD I've always wanted to try out a twin on the track, or at least a sport twin on the street. They sound awesome, and the power is right where you want it for street ridden bikes.

Please, please do not mention or show these things ... it gives me the creeps, have to push away the toughts to trade my oilcooled :sad for a superb street and a trackbike. 2 bikes are far easier to maintain :biggrin
and as a detail this bike I only would accept in a blue/white version

sofar waved :nono the offers to have a test ride on one

Have to be strong this afternoon, since I'm goiing to check the stocks again of a very large bike-trader / breaker ( they have a nice one )

On a simular trip same place I ended up with my Bimota SB6, never regretted that tough ... the misses hates to see me goiing out on this kind of trips :dunno why :lmao

Also would solve storage problems, however since I saw the pics again of the storage facilities of French based SERT team there is still hope :lol

I've been wondering about those. Seem kinda cool, but I don't hear a lot about them which leads me to believe that they are as you said - just okay. Not really what you look for in a track bike or a daily ride.
Only rode it about 12k home and back, did the streets on the way home,it felt prity nimble, great brakes, engine sounds like a typical KTM,trottle was jerky when backing off and going again.did the hwy on the way back,it seamd prity planted.think i would prefer an aprilla for the running gear, and the ktm for the looks.we've relly jackd up raws thread havent we.that'l teach him for posting and running!!!

(Cough). I really, really like KTM's, having had 620/640 Dukes for >10years. I absolutely love 'em. The company just can't do a thing wrong, they just don't do bland pudding shite.

I believe the glitchy throttle can be fixed by an ECU remap and aftermarket can. KTM have a habit of restraining bikes to cheat their way past EC noise laws, in the full expectation that the first thing the owner will do is discard the crap. With the Duke singles, they even sold an opened-up gauze airbox lid + jet kit expecting most owners would want them fitted at PDI, about +10% HP for less than 20GBP. The stock cans are made for gutting, too. Perfect attitude.

If I wasn't (a)old (b)poor I'd have a hard time choosing between the RC8 and the GSXR1000K9. But since (a) is true I'd go for the SM950 instead, or maybe even the Adventurer. And since (b) is true, I'll stick with a 2003 Duke2 for all-year use and 1988 GSXR1100 for summertime enemas.
