So after looking up all the things that I need to make my bike look nice again, I seriously want to scream. I'm going to take my time looking for most of the pieces on Ebay and WERA but...geeze. This sucks really bad. Anyways...here are the pics and the prices that I found. I didn't look for a deal...just OEM prices. I will be looking for a good deal on most of the stuff though. I just thought I'd ask for suggestions. Also...I was wondering if someone could recommend grips and frame sliders.

metzler tires?!

Anyway, I'd fix the clip on and say fuck it! buy oem grips.

You may consider calling insurance. It looks like there's a scratch on the frame, so technically it's totalled.
Ahh...it's just my baby and to leave it like that would seriously drive me insane! How can you tell that there's possibly a scratch on the frame?

Oh my, what the heck did he do? That looks pretty bad, i would just report it to the insurance company and let them deal with it, that's alot of stuff to buy.

The fist time he dropped it he lost control in the rain. The frame slider took most of the damage on that one. The only thing that was messed up was the side crowling. We had it checked out and there weren't any scratches or anything wrong with the frame.

The second time he dropped it, he was trying to get it up a ramp alone and the chain got caught on his pants and fell with the bike.

Here's the crazy part...we don't have insurance. Since we're both in the Army and he's deployed and I'm soon to be in training for a while, it was just going to sit in storage for a while so...no insurance. We're pretty much stuck alone in this situation.

I dunno...it's about $1500 in damages...I figure we aren't the first or the last. He learned from his mistakes in both situations and I'm just glad it wasn't worse. It's also pretty dirty so it probably looks a lot worse than it is. The left side is absolutely perfect and besides what I pointed out....everything else on the right side is scratch free. Well...I dunno if the frame is scratched or not. I hope not. I don't know what we would do if that's the case. I love this bike and I don't mind fixing it up.

Say the frame is scratched....then what? I don't want to drive the bike if it's not safe obviously...can I just take it to the local shop and get it fixed? Also, 513Speed said that it looks like there's a scratch on the frame, where should I be looking? I keep looking at the pictures wondering what he's talking about.

Yeah that's where I got the prices for the stuff that I pointed out. They're definitely the best that I've found so far. But damn...you got lucky...only $286. I hope you were wearing gear.

I still cant see how the chain caught his pants, is he wearing some super baggy parachute MC hammer pants or what? :lmao Chain guard removed or something?

I don't know...I wasn't there and that's what he told me. Maybe he was just embarrassed to tell me that he lost control getting it up the ramp since he knows that bike is my baby. He felt awful and well...I'm over it. We'll have fun fixing it up when he gets back from his deployment.

Yeah sorry for some reason I always think those are metzlers. I have these POS's on my Aprilia, I just can't get the time to change them out.

I think you see the scratch now (according to PM's). As far as safety, I'd say it's insignificant. I say that, insurance would probably total it if the scratch is more than "paint" deep. If you can run your fingernail through it and get it caught, that's usually enough.

That said, I'd buy that totaled bike and fly the fck around the track. The scratch isn't on the weld. It's your call, if there's more than just a tiny bit of metal missing it can start to be a safety issue.

I'd also re-estimate the cost of the repairs. It's probably about double that. It's hard to tell without seeing the bike but just be honest with yourself - maybe you should have a profesional estimate the damages?

Don't let your husband on the bike after you fix it! And never let him ride you around :p

Your best bet might be to ride it broken (fix the controls/etc) until you get a little more experience.

Thanks for the advice. It's insane how I've had this bike for a year now and it took my husband dropping it for me to learn so much about it.

I think the pictures make the damage look a lot worse than it is. Plus I didn't have time to clean it up before the pics. I actually already got everything that I need to fix it up. I found a guy that was breaking down a bike on wera and got all the plastic, tank, and right switch for less than $900. I think this guy was smoking crack but I got an amazing deal. I got the tank and tank cover alone for $300, and it all looks perfect. I'm getting it all installed now. Plus, Chronic14 gave me the clipon for free (Thanks again!!). Like I said...I got lucky.

My husband is actually a really good rider...just had some shitty luck for being careless. He learned his lesson. Believe me...I wont let him be that stupid again.
