I could never see not getting full coverage.. You could wipe out your 5-10k bike in a matter of seconds.. your fault or not. 4500 for full coverge is pretty high. Thats kinda a sign that maybe your a high risk, or in a high risk area.

I paid $1475 for my k2 750 Full coverage, for the year with progressive. No underinsured, uninsured protection ( that was an additional $1500 )

Typically for people in our situation liability with comp & UIM is the way to go. This way the only time you would have to come out of pocket is if you were at fault. (Which if you're paying $3000-4000/yr you'd probably be better of just putting that money towards repairs or another bike).

Exactly

i'm about to be 23 at the end of this month. I have the msf course (helps drop insurance) and last year full coverage w/ farmers insurance was 180ish a month. This year it's only 128. No idea why it dropped, but i aint complaining..

i can understand that, but he just said he had liability. With that said, i'd love to see your face when you lose a 10k bike when you only save 3k a year :dunno

Do you even have gap?

I called just to see what full coverage would be 6k a year roughly! I havent had a ticket in 4 years and one accident when I was 17. And honestly if I did total it I would prob just stop paying on it and deal with bad credit lol

That is sad. I hope you marry an intelligent guy or girl that can manage their credit, life, & financials better than that. Bad credit is one of the worst things you can have. Cause you to waste a good amount of money.

...no licence.... =)
:wtf

In Nova Scotia you can ride a bike by yourself on a learners just not at night. Since I borrowed bikes and then rebuilt a couple beaters and sold them off over the years, I never bothered going for the full licence as I never kept a bike for longer than 6 months.

They have a waiting period between writing the learners and going for the road test so I never bothered with the road test.

Since the learners permit here in Alberta requires you to ride with a fully licenced rider (same bike, different bike or another vehicle following nearby) I finally went for my road test, except I needed a bike (plus insurance and registration) first =p

Let me tell you the examiner gave me an awefully funny look showing up with a 750 that had 17km on it.

when i bought my SV i was also looking at a gsxr750 most my quotes were 35-4500 a year. thats why i went with the SV it was 1000 a year at first. after i got married and moved into a house with a garage and had an alarm installed it went down to like 600 a year. got a uote for a 750 then and it was down to like 1100. I hope to be buyign a 750 at the begining of 2010, we will see what its at then.
