Okay i have the 954 tail light mounted in my tail section and have the wires leading up into the trunk area and i have the wires ready to splice and solder into the existing wires for the brake light and turn signals. My problem is that i dont know which wire goes to which wire. My 954 tail is an integrated tail that has the signals in the light. 954 tail light has the following colored wires- red, white, black, yellow, blue. My stock plug for the brake light has a brown wire, black with white stripe, and white with a black stripe. My turn signals have a black and white wire going to each side, and one side has a green wire and the other side has a black wire. The brown wire on the stock plug i have figured out is the constant power wire, and the white with black stripe comes on when the brake lever is pulled and the black with white stripe is obviously the ground wire. Can someone please help me asap so i can wire this in and go for a ride?

Come one, I know someone on here has installed the integrated 954 tail light on there 01-03 600... I don't want to ride around with no brake light or turn signals so i need to get this wired in but i don't know which wires to connect to the 5 wires that are on the 954 tail light. please someone help me out. I would greatly appreciate it...

well, you know what ground is, so connect them up...and then just start connecting the other wires to whatever you think is right - seriously. You're not going to hurt anything by putting the brake light wire where the turn signal wire is supposed to be. As far as I know, all of those wires run off of the same voltage.

What color wire would the ground be coming off the 954 tail light? I thought black was usually ground, but someone told me that white is the ground. So what color wire on the 954 light should be connected to the existing ground wire on the bike? Also, I believe that there is a separate ground wire going into each turn signal. Am I correct? If so, do both of those ground wires connect to the existing ground wire on the plug for the brake light? I don't know why I am having so much trouble with this? I'm not very good with wiring if you couldn't tell.

Yea i already saw that guys post but the wire colors he has listed are not the color wires that i have on my 954 light. Plus i don't think his is an integrated light that has the turn signals in the light. My 954 light has 5 wires and that guy only had 3 different wires listed.

the new light has 5 wires
ground (goes to black/white stripe) :new light probably black.
marker light (constant power brown wire)
brake signal (goes to white/black stripe)
left signal (goes to either the green or black)
rightsignal (goes to either the green or black)

make some guesses on the new light
connect the ground to black,
then connect the other 4 wires one at a time to 12V
you should get each function/light coming on as you connect a wire
red = brake (white/black stripe)?
white = (right turn green or black)?
yellow = (left turn green or black)?
blue = tail lamp (to brown)?

found this on e-bay

Tail light wire color codes:
Tail Light Plug:
  • Black-Ground
  • Blue-Tail Light
  • Red-Brake Light
Signal Light Wiring:
  • Green-Right Side Amber LEDs
  • Yellow-Left Side Amber LEDs
*************the above is guess

edit: since it's LEDs, if the ground is not on the proper wire none of the lights will probably work when bench testing it.
