I recently purchased a wrecke 06 gsx-r 600. I am in the process of rebuilding it and im running into a few problems. I reinstalled the front wheel according to the service manual. I installed the collar on the left side of the wheel (facing wheel from the front view) and tightened up the axle. The problem im running into is that on the right side, there is no spacer. I keep reading that the spacer is built into the axle but the forks slides right over the axle and run into the rotors. There is no space between the rotor and the forks and they make contact. I feel like I am missing something there or maybe just user error? please let me know. thanks!!

on a different subject.. I took off the steering stem and found that I was missing all the bearings. Then I look and I realize that this bearing has been half ass taken off. I should be able to just chizzle at this and take it off correct?

I'm not sure what you did wrong. But the spacer is built in to the axle. Take it apart again and look things over closely.

Ah I can't completely remember its one of those things I just know how to do it when I do it lol. Anyway I believe the collar/spacer you speak off goes on the right side of the wheel. Make sure you putting the axle in the right way. the side with the built in spacer and the open hole in it goes on the left, the side with the bolt goes in the right.

ok im an idiot haha. I didnt install the steering stem, which obviously let the forks move freely in and out. After installing the stem, i realized that i had perfect clearance. live and learn... thanks for the help lol
