I wanted to take a quick poll and see how people have their Speedohealer's setup on a stock K6. The speedohealer online calculator says that for a 17/42 setup on 190/50/17 that the Speedohealer should be set to -5.2%. I was just curious what others set theirs to....because -5.2% on my setup is completely wrong.....the max speed my speedometer said was around 30mph. Then I dialed it back to -1.5% and seems to be more accurate, but now i believe it is showing faster than I am actually going. I don't have access to a GPS or Radar, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Where did you order the speedohealer from and how do I tell which one to get? looks like there are mutiple versions but I don't see anything for a K7/K8 listed.

Here's how most of us do it. I have K6 1K but I don't remember what percentage it was off. (it was off, however.)

1. Set the healer back to "stock"
2. borrow a gps and go for a ride
3. compare gps speed to indicated.
4. set your healer up based on the gap.
5. go back to step 2 until satisfied.
Thanks,
Jeff

Yup, a friend with a gps and a car to ride next to works perfect.

FYI, one of my riding buddies has an 07 Civic, and it is within 1mph of his garmin, and the MPH display is very easy to see. Check down low, 25 to 35 mph, then check up high, the error is a percentage so it will be more obvious at higher speeds...

It worked for me, then once my bike was done, he paced off me to set his speedo healer. He didnt want to velcro his several hundred dollar Garmin to his bike, just in case, I can understand that. So this worked very well for us...

i cable tied my garmin to my top clamp, cleared my top speed, and rode the bike up to 120mph indicated and went home... just buy the little yellow garmin you can get one for under 100 bucks...

or just find one of those roadside radar stands with the speed readout and go ride by it...

or use mile markers your speedo error should be the same as your odometer error... so if you ride for 10 miles down the highway and your bike reads 11 miles or so there's your 10% error... most likely your error is reading near 10% too fast, that's usually what it is.

on my k6 the stock error was almost 7% and when i went down 1 on the front i ended up i believe settign the healer to almost 13%. when i was on the dyno i was withing 2 mph
