Which one are you using and are you happy with it? What other parts did you have to purchase(longer brake line, chain, etc.) or did it come in some sort of kit? I'm more likely to take my bike to a drag strip than a road course so I am looking for ways to keep the front of the bike down.

i've got swingarm extensions on my bike and they're great on the track... mine are adjustable 4-6" an i have it at 6". but i'm going to be spraying nitrous this year so i'm going with a full swingarm that 9" over stock. i'll sell you my extensions if you want. extensions, chain and sprockets for $180+ shipping. had em on the bike for about 4 months and the front sprocket is -1. whole kit is practically brand new. pm me if you want em.

These extensions on the track, ever have any problems with the front wheel coming up at a launch? Are you on a stock suspension or is there/do you have a special setup for the track?

I got an 05 1000 with a thompsons custom cycle swingarm 10" over. Wheelbase is 65". Stock motor with clutch, airbox, and throttle body mods. And spray. Bike is geared 15/46 and it will come up. The bike standing up really depends on a combination of length, how much bike is lowered, rider weight, and gearing. My bike with 15/42 would very very rarely pull the front wheel out of the whole. With 15/46 it's a moster and I'm 210 in gear. I've had extensions before and never had a problem just loctite the bolts on the backing plates and you will be good to go. I went with full swingarm this time because I am spraying and because I had the air tank built into the swingarm and nitrous bottle mount welded on. I would definitely suggest fully adjustable lowering links not just the ones with the holes in them. You should also invest in a front strap kit. you will need longer chain and I would change gearing to at least -1 up front +3 in back. I would also suggest stiffer clutch springs and if it's an 05/06 do the clutch mod on this site except the 750 concave washer and pull the slipper pins out all together. And lower the front fors about an inch and a quarter.

I can get some close ups pf the swingarm if you want
If you could that would be great. Also am curious as to what the fully adjustable rear is. Really the only ones I have seen are the dogbones with 3 holes on one side.

Tips on first mods/settings when converting a bike into a newbie drag bike?:punk

more pics.
You will see in the pics the fully adjustable lowering links that I have that are longer than normal lowering links to put a bike this long on the ground. You will also see some chipping of the powedercoating, but that is because I am constantly changing sprockets and rear tires. The piece on the bottom is called a link pro that lets you change the spring rate by turning one bolt. You will see two black air lines going into the swingarm, this because the swingarm is sealed and is the airtank for the air shifter. I also took a pic of the air shifter bracket. Nitous mount was also welded. The swingarm also came with the brake bracket you see in the pics. This swingarm is actually from an early model 600 bike. That's used because there is no top bracing and then underbracing was added so the bike can be lowered more.

Nice setup! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the lowering links and longer chain from? How did you calculate what length chain you needed having such a long swingarm?

the links are off ebay, but from a company called soupy's. It was the only place I could filnd them, but everybody at the track uses them and they are heavy duty! My chain was 150 links and I believe I cut off 7-10 links. Who ever you buy extensions or a swingarm from should be able to tell you, but longer is better than coming up short. Especially if you are going to regear the bike.

Does he have to have my bike or can I just tell him year and model and be can fab something up? I think for now I'll just to with swingarm extensions, unless I can come across a great deal on a whole arm
