Needless to say that I'm bumbed out by the final scores but my hat is off to Honda and Kawasaki for pushing the peformance envelope further. Anyway, I wonder why SR tested the K8 at Buttonwillow with front preload set at "1 line showing" when they tested a K7 at the same track last year with the front preload set at "3 lines showing". Same riders, same track, about the same month of the year for both tests. Tires sizes are same but different brand and compound. Does the tire compound require that big of a change in the preload? Are the front springs different between K7 and K8? Are the springs that far off from bike to bike? SR also did another test with a K7 for their the bike of the year award, which the K7 took. This time they ran it at the "5 lines showing".
I weight 165lbs with full gear. Half a turn of front preload is noticeable difference for me. SR went from one extreme to another(1 line to 5 lines). So whats up with that?!?!
