I can't remember where I read it that the exhaust headers on the k8 600/750 are of a smaller diameter than the 06/07, I have been searching but I can't find it .The cylinder head is also different so the answer to your question would be no, the 06/07 system won't fit.

You can't just say "The answer to your question is...." because you READ SOMEWHERE... How about you wait until someone actually tries to put on an '06/'07 one onto an '08 before you go spreading more MISINFORMATION!

ok, I remember where I read the information about the exhaust size on the 08 600 GSXR. May 2008 edition of 'superbike' magazine here in the uk,page 16 and I quote"front section pipe is reduced from 38.1 mm to 35 mm to adjust exhaust pulses to aid peak power.Larger mufflers replace previously neat looking MotoGP style cans" unquote. Hope that makes things a little clearer!

The 750 still has the 38mm header tubes. I just measured mine.
I'll try to fit the '06 header on the '08 tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know tomorrow night

After removing the fairings on my 600, it really is starting to look bad for me. I don't think the 06-07 600 header will fit the 08 600. But from what info I've gathered from this forum, sounds like almano may be in luck. Let us know how it goes.

BTW, what about the SET valve cables? What will you be planning to do? I took off my right side tail cowl and it doesn't look like the motor is in the tail cowling on the 08s..Therefore, I will probably need to trace the cables and see where exactly they lead to.

The SET motor is now under the fuel tank. For me the exhaust looks exactly the same except the welded cat. The mounting looks the same. The O2 sensor is the small type, so whoever wants to install Motty or any other system what needs an O2 sensor must get another header or weld another bung in the header. The early 06 750 header used the big type sensor, so hunt for that on eBay.

Thanks for the info. Interesting how the set motor is under the tank. You seem to know the bike inside and out, so thank you for the information you just gave me. But one more question for you or whoever can answer this. Being that we have the mode switch, and from what I "heard" the 08 ECU's are actually smaller, is the SET wire to the ECU have the same placement/color as the 06-07?

Ok, guys.
The 06/07 750 headers are FIT on the 08 bike!!!!!:punk

I just put them on no problem. Everything lines up. I measured the whole 08 system and it's 25 Lbs with the exhaust valve motor. Sorry, I forgot to measure the 06 headers :), if someone has one set please measure and post it. Thanks

Congrats Almano! I'm PRAYING that I can get the same results for the 06-07 600 header for the 08 600. Or else, I pretty much did all this for absolutely nothing.

I just removed the set valve and header. Took a while to get the header off because of the lack of space. Had to loosen the radiator brackets, etc.

Anyway, here are pictures of the 08 600 header. I measured one of the runners too so like Almano requested, if anyone just happens to have an OEM 06-07 600 header handy, can you please measure one of the runners for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the 08 header/cat/SET/o2
