or are they completely differnt and nothing will match up ?

some say yes, others say no.

DUDE! do a search, dont open anothet annoying exhaust thread, there is plenty in this '08 sections already...:wtf
NO IT WILL NOT FIT!!!! THE CAT IS WELDED TOGETHER WITH THE HEADERS!!!!:banghead
Nobody said so far that the 06/07 slip-on will fit on the 08, unless you change the headers to the 06/07 headers....:chucks

Sorry, reason I asked is there is alot of mixed info in the threads already listed.
I was just looking for a straight answer.
some topics said "might", "could" "probley fit" and so on.

thats why I said WAS looking.

not "thats why im looking for an answer"

I got the answer I needed, so yes I can read.

maybe you should pay a bit more attention :shifty
If you look my previous posts in all the threads with this question I said all the time it will not work. Also it's obvious since the header is welded together with the cat, as we said million times already. So it's impossible to fit the 06/07 slipon on the '08 without cutting/modifying.

are we friends yet

i have a k8 750 and had the k6/7 750 and it deffinately won't fit as someone else said the headers are welded to the cat i have just put a yoshi r55 on mine which is a slip on can and takes 20 mins to fit start to finish but search round for the best price.the only other way to get rid of the cat is either get it cut out and a by pass link pipe made or buy a full system...

akrapovic says that their 06-07 full system is not compatible with the 08, so i am guessing that they are tuned a little differently

That's the same question I've been asking... no one here has tested it yet. More importantly, will the '06/'07 stock full system fit on the '08?

I spoke to my dealer about this and he was definitely under the impression it has to be an 08 slip-on for the reasons mentioned above.

I took his advice and ordered an 08 one. If you are going to pay anywhere upward of $9k for a bike, why skimp on an exhaust
