BTW, the K5 also uses the fast idle mode of the STV to reduce engine braking above a certain RPM limit. It is easy to see from data logging the TPS and the STPS.
Motty, are you positive about this? And at what RPM?

They're sold here for the equivalent of US$1066, without the race harness. The harness clocks in at just under US$400. You have to get it from your own Yosh dealer, for warranty reasons.

Here is a picture from my K5 1000. The TP is at the bottom zoomed in on the under 2% throttle opening (that's why it looks a little noisy).

Orange is the STPS, black is RPM. As the throttle was closed the STV went to the fast idle mode right away and increased the TP by about 0.5%. It is not much but it would have raised the idle speed by about 500 RPM or more if the engine was really idling. Then as the RPM drops below 4500 the fast idle mode is stopped.

I guess the amount of the idle increase could be changed by the fast idle speed adjusting screw.

Interesting reading that they may not be adjusted for this function from the factory though
There is a section in the em-pro manual for k5-k7 on adjusting this when you swap from stock ecu to em-pro.
