will 04/05 gsxr 750 front end with forks fit my 02 750? pic inside

i was wondering if the front end of a 04/05 gsxr 750 would bolt up to my bike if i had the clamps and pretty much everything with the steering?
i found a really good pair a friend of mine is selling because he got a 100 front end and i need new forks. i would still use my plastic and fair stays and such.

for some reason i cant search the forums right now and i need to know if anyone has done this or knows if it can be done.
thanks
nick
here is a pic of what i am getting

all you really need is the fork tubes and all the lower stuff like brakes and axle. you dont need the triples or the controls. the upper triple wont work with the 02 ignition positioning and the control wires are different. its basically a bolt in.

thanks i was figuring that but wasnt sure.:cheers

Aren't the brake rotors smaller on 05-04? Wheels swap ok if you change rotors.

my bad, i assumed he was getting the rims too. in that case you can use your old rims with the new rotors or you can get spacers for the calipers or you can machine down the old rotors.

yeah i was going to get the wheels but it didnt work out he sold them already. i might just buy a new rim to go with this swap. once i get started i will take pics if anyone wants to see what i do.
thanks

You don't have to buy the entire rim, you only need the rotors. But it's not a bad idea to have a spare rim if the price is right. The top triple clamp is the same so don't worry, but the ignition switch isn't.

Another thing you'll need is the front FENDER!!!

the old fender will fit but the back bolts wont. ive run mine for 2 years like that with no issues though it is not ideal.

You guys are sure the 04-05 rotor will mount on the older wheel? Is the 600 and 750 stuff the same on the 04-05?

the 04-05 rotor will fit the old wheel, 05 and up 1000 and 06 and up 600-750 will not fit however.

Run the old discs with the new calipers and caliper spacers. got a customer running this setup and it works great.

the only issue with that setup is its very difficult to get the calipers on/off, which in turns making front wheel removal hard as well. very hard.

Question anyone know what change the swing arm on the 05 gsxr 750 differs from the 2002 gsxr 750.. Been staring at them both for a week and want to know if these are the same or what?

And anyone ever try a 2004 1000 gixxer engine swap to a 2002 750 frame? I have the winter coming and could get this engine within the week!

I have an 04 600 Front end complete (for sale) if you are interested in making the conversion, getting the forks, calipers, and rotors, let me know. oh and fender. You can run your old fender though if you want. (as previoiusly said).

If i'm not mistaken, the old superman headlight gixxers have a rear brake arm/brace that's different from the new models. so if you do the swap, do the brake capiliper and mounts, and possibly the rotor too. not sure about the rotor though.

if interested in buying whatever just email me:

youll need the whole rear swingarm setup. everything is different. only thing you can use is your shock and rim.
