My low fuel level light no longer comes on when I run low on fuel. The light itself works, it lights up whenever I start the bike. Is there some kind of sensor in the tank? Can I change that? BTW its an 03 1K....:hammer

There is a thermistor, you can test it.Asfaraslogic said:
Unbolt it, plug 12 volt current with a tester inline(those like a pen with a light inside).There is one wire(+) and the shaft is the ground.
If it works, after 15-30 sec the tester should lights up slowly.
The thermistor is heating when there is no more fuel to cool it so the ECU send the signal to the speedo light.

This part is very expensive from Suzuki so if it is really that, i suggest a new pump on Ebay.

damn that sucks my 03 1k does the exact same thing, i coasted into a gas station at 164 miles thank god i was close to one.
