I finally completed the fit and finish work on a new set of Armor Bodies racing skins. I want to paint them using a paint gun, but have no idea what type of paint to use. Does anyone have any recommendations?

no... dont do that bullshit spray can crap it looks like hell. spray your base what ever color you want then take it to a paint shop for the clear coat. dont do the clear your self period unless you have a booth and know how to buff it up really good.

i've had good experience with house of color... there paint is fucking AWeSOME!!!!!! or find some other type of urethane paint. its good stuff trust me.

Why would you want to put out money that is going to be potentially wasted, the first time he bins it? I've done rattle can jobs on plenty of stuff and it comes out really nice, if you take your time.

For real, he just said our bike looks like shit . . . when clearly it doesn't. Not to mention, its been down & we didn't cry over the demolished paint job - THAT is more important than having a "pretty" track bike :wacko
I liked the Blue/Orange scheme :D I wish I could pull that off on my 05 but I just doesn't look right :sad

The other factor is you save time and money by using rattle can. I mean you could the $$$ you would need for paint into something else more useful.

I just painted my 1000rr with a gun, first paint job and it came out awesome... i used a one step paint with activator. ill see if i can post a picture, PAINT GUN all the way

rattle can is shit.... its simple. you WILL NOT get a mirror shine like you will with a paint gun and some nice paint. and your rattle can bike does look like shit and it does not matter b/c its on the track :)

I agree with Dilly and the others- keep the nice paint job for the street. You won't feel so bad f'n up a rattle can job the first time you bin it.

If you don't have anything nice to say.....STFU.

I think some of these people are blind or can't read. This is for TRACK SKINZ. having a mirror finish dosn't mean shit. unless your name is Mladin Spies, Rossi, or Hayden, there is no need to have a mirror finish. if you are one of those guys, you still don't care cuz you don't have to paint it.
For instance
If you were to go to the track with your fancy gun sprayed shinny paint jobn and even if all what happened was it fell over while unloading, there goes your nice mirror finish that cost XXX amount of dollars and alot of time.
Now if you have a paint job that came out of a rattle can, depending on what you have done. It probly cost 20 bucks at most for the paint, and a little more in time.

Rant over
