Rebuilt Suzuki GSX-R600 without Title: South Carolina Registration Issues

Just thought I would share my luck with all of you. I got a wrecked 600 about 4 months ago and just finished rebuilding it. Now that I am finished, already spent all of my money rebuilding it. The guy I got the frame from is nowhere to be found with my title. So now I have a very fast very sweet lawn ornament. South Carolina will not let me retitle the bike unless I can provide them with the original title first. GRRRRR

If you still have vins on the bike you can go to the DMV and they should be able to track him down, or the police will.

Hope you documented your purchase.

Yeah, I got paperwork from the sale. It is just a hassle. Almost easier to buy another frame and then sell this one for the track. Although I would hate to take the bike back apart right after I got it together. All together I have about $3000 invested so Once I do get the title straight I will have gotten a hell of a deal.

Well it seems that the frame is stolen so I am SOL. I have turned the frame in. Now I need to find another frame but I have spent all of my extra cash. If anyone has a frame with papers let me know.

The original bike was sold with a non rebuildable cert of destruction because the frame itself was trashed. I paid about $800 for the slavage frame that turned out to be hot so like I said I turned it in. Now I have a ton of parts and no frame. I just need to decied if I am going to sell all the parts or come up with the money to buy a new frame. Grrrrr I am just dieing because now I have no bike.

Well I am thinking about parting this bike out now. I hate to do it but I just don't have the time to take it apart and reassemble it on another frame. Plus I don't have the money. So if anyone out there has a frame and wants to build a 600 (it has 1000 rims on it and brand new Battleax tires) I would be willing to trade for an older bike or work out a cash transaction.

I am just sick to my stomach with this one because of all the hours spent on it. The side plastics have some damage(rash) but the upper, tank, rear plastic are in great shape. Engine has only 1500 miles on it.

How much you asking for the plastics? Like everything. I want spare plastics, i want to do my own paint job and don't want to ruin my corona plastics. I'm just curious. If price is right i'll see what i can do. Let me know.

I will update you guys this week on the status, Wife says She might buy me a frame with our Tax money. If not then I will part it out. Hopefully I will get a frame because I already put in the wrench time and I would hate to give this bike up.
