Had my first crash at Hallett last week. The track phtotgrapher happened to get it. I was going too fast into turn 10 and was already on the outside of the track. Ran out of asphalt and stood it up for the ride in the grass. The tires were coming up pretty quick so I had no choice but to lay it down to get stopped. At the time I was thinking " just hold on to keep it sliding flat on it's side so it doesn't catch and start flipping. Looks kind of comical.:rolleyes This was in the first session of the day. Good news is that I beat my personal best lap time by 2 seconds all day. Down to 1:28xx now.

Did you have velcro on the saddle???? Man you were welded to that ,reminded me of the ideal toys evil kenivel stunt cycle ,I remember that going down the same way spinning around peg with rider casually sitting there:lol

8 out of 10 i reckon:cheers

I would of chose that option too. Better than hitting a wall of tyres.

Thanks guys. It didn't really feel unnatural to do. Probably habit from dirt bike days. I can remember going down dirt road that we were doing huge fast power slides on. I went down and in an instant crawled on top of the bike and there I was perched on top of the bike on it's side spinning down a gravel road. We laughed about that for a long time.

Good job keeping it out of the tires. At least you could continue riding the rest of the day.

I was there that day too, great weather. I am jealous of your lap times!
It was an excellent day to ride. :D Probably my last until it cools off in September. About the lap times.... I've been on a plateu for a long time. I finally am getting the hang of late braking into turn 2 and 10 :wacko

Cool. I really suck at turn one. i know it can be taken at higher speeds than I go but I can't get the hang of it. I can't see far enough into it to go blazing in. I guess I need more practice.

You hit the nail on the head. You already know how to do it, just takes doing it again and again to fine tune it. I've carried a sh!tload of speed into that corner CW and CCW and I've never slid on that corner. I just make sure I stay on the inside if I'm really pushing it. (that statement probably just sealed my fate):wacko

great work saving the bike, now that we know your ok and so is the gix......can we laugh now? J/K
