If memory serves me correctly those are by jardine, correct? and bolt onto the existing CAT, correct.... ??? I do believe this is the case... at least by the picture.. if this is true then that y-pipe will work with those pipes.....

OK people for the last time the Y connector will work with any dual slip on. Arrow, Jardine, Yoshimura or stock it doesnt matter. The Jardine will be load as hell with the connector!

The stock header is 4-2-1 that's where the exhaust valve is then the CAT bolts on to that so taking the CAT out will not lose the valve! The O2 sensor will go into the new connector. If you don't hook up the O2 sensor it will give you a code.

Looks good. I remember discussing a very similar set up about a month back. Great job!

I'd like to see a closer, more straight on picture of the right side...specifically where the body work ends, and the small plate is still attatched, covering the exhaust on that side.

Thanks.

Re: *LOOK* I got may cake and can eat it to! New K7 Exhaust!!!

Overthetop,
Who did your pegs and rearsets? Do they match perfectly? Not sure if it's the glare or not, but they look just a shade different than the rest of the black. I want to get mine done but aren't quite convinced that they would match the rest of the frame perfectly. I want to make sure they match the frame and swingarm exactly.

I powder-coated everything myself. They are not a 100% match but it would be impossible unless you got Suzuki to provide you the powder. If you look at the bike it is super clean, you cant really tell. In the pics with the flash it kinda alters the color. I am doing RJM's stuff tonight.

I bet just replacing the catt with the mid pipe, you will notice the difference. It doesn't sound like a bad idea either since the stock exhause is titanium anyways. I bet the stock cans would sound nice with out the catt. I don't have my bike in front of me but does replacing the cat with a mid pipe remove the exhaust butterfly?

I too wonder how the stock cans would sound when replacing the mid pipe. Would be nice to hear a sound clip of some kind. That raises my options now. I want a deeper sound until I can buy a full exhaust. In between a mid pipe and the Jardine GP-1 with silencers right now.

The particular y-pipe that OVER has in his setup will not work with the stock header and mid-pipe... If you notice that y-pipe that he has in his system is a 2-1-2.... the K7's need a 1 - 2... and it's also shorter, due to the fact that it uses the stock mid-pipe.... so the part number for the y-pipe to use the stock cans is 71365MI#

look at the mid - left side of the page and you will see the details there in a clickable link....

$171 at motostrano.com. didn't see it on the website, but if you call they can get it for you.

OTT,

Great thread!:cheers I went the arrow mid pipe only route and it should be here in the next week or so (I'll toss the saving over the full header sytem on a PCIII and dyno tune). Post your dyno once you get it. I will do the same. This will give folks a loose comparo of the mid pipe vs the full header set ups...though since we're using different dynos it won't be perfect.

Different dynos, different bikes, different conditions....

Interesting concept, but it will mean absolutely nothing.

Please let me know if you notice a difference in sound once you get the mid-pipe. We both feel the same way about this. I just want a deeper sound, the bike already has more than enough power.

The mid pipe will for sure make a diffrance in sound. My system bolted to the cat almost sounded stock. Now.... it sound like $800 exhaust!
