I might just sell my GP1 and ride around with the stock exhaust from now on. Get some hotbodies turn signals to cover the mirror holes, and buy two round reflectors and bolt it onto my plate.

So unless the cop is a real big asshole he can't do anything about it.

lol tell me how to get there on Sunday :D
It's not far at all. They are all pretty old and don't know anything.

I had a fix-it ticket for no front license plate on my Ranger's front bumper so I just zip-tied it to the top bar and he signed it off. It looked really retarded and then I clipped it off once I got home.

You are on your own on that one.:lol
 alright maybe it won't work but I'm gonna be mad when someone else thinks of it and I see it on T.V.

Like a few years ago I was thinking it would be cool to make retractable wheelie bars and then a couple years later someone came out with them (can't remember who. it was in a Hot Rod mag article).

so i leave for a few mins and this thread moves fast damn,

Will that sucks about the ticket, fight it man fight it. i think 99.998% of bikes are illegal, lol just depends on the cop and what not.

so whats happening Sunday:scratch

Oh no. I remember reading something from Brett Kepner suggesting they should do away with wheelie bars. At the time I thought it was crazy. Now that we don't run wheelie bars any longer it's like a crutch for the cars that do.:lol

Brian, what time are we meeting up at your house? My sis's car is going to be in the shop till Monday so I'm going to have to take her to work on Sunday at around 10.

We can meet up pretty much whenever. Maybe if Charles showed up around 9-10 we could be done in an hour or so and then we can go cruise and eat around noon. How's that sound?

If anyone knows about tickets, it's me. ALWAYS fight a ticket. Start off with what was said earlier in the thread, a written declaration. The cop then has to also submit his written declaration and the judge reviews both of them. Now this is the thing, the cops half the time are too lazy to do it, and you automatically win the case. Now if the cop decides to send his side in as well, and the judge finds you guilty.. it's okay, you get a second chance. It's called a trial de novia or some shit I forget the name off. But basically you have 20 days after being found guilty to submit this new trial form, which basically means you go into court in front of the judge with the cop as well. Now again, if the cop doesn't show up, you win. But here, you can explain your case better and have another chance of getting off.

I'll tell you what, I had my bike impounded for doing a wheelie, and that was 2 points on my record, added onto the 1 point I already had on. Therefore, 1 more ticket and I would have my license suspended because they were all within 1 year. This is the funny part, I got the warning letter from the DMV stating this, but I had 3 more tickets PENDING.. haha I thought I was fkd for sure. 2 of the tickets the cops didn't even send in their written declaration, so I had 1 more to take care of before I was in the clear. Of course this one the cop decided to send his in, and I was found guilty. I then requested a trial de nova or whatever it's called, and I got in front of the judge with the cop. It's all big english test when you're up there, make sure you say the right things and get the cop to say something wrong, and you're golden. Thank God that is what happened, what I had told the judge, the cop didn't remember so he couldn't provide the proper response and so on.

So, it works :cheers

Oh, and before anyone that knows me points out the obvious.. I still wheelie :hammer

BAD HABIT. $1600 for a month of impound, and $400 ticket for wreckless driving.
Basically a $2,000 wheelie.. ouch.

Brian, that sounds good so basically you and Charles set a time and I'll come over after I take my sis to work.

Nick, thanks for the advice I'll do what you and Charles suggested and see how it'll work out. The last ticket I got was almost 2 years ago and I never tried to fight them, but since I got into an at fault accident just recently (2 points) I really can't afford to have another point on my record.

Yea me too... I almost had my license suspended because of my rice rocket and bike...but what I usually do is request night court and if the cop doesnt show up I get my $ refunded in 4 weeks tops. I did that 5 times but only lost one becuase of this CHP asshole that gave me a gang of tickets on my Hatch becuase of my modified motor and other crap. That cop even came out on this magazine called Super Street a couple years back. Takes his job too serious...lol

Well if you dont win, request traffic school then..
+1 Will...FYI if you didn't know the fixits don't count as points. Also you can do traffic school every 18 months.

I've been in the same position as you Nick...I've had plenty of tickets. Along with accidents. :hammer
