I was quoted from 9.8K to 10.2K for a 600 here in NY.

Can some one steer me torwards a thread to help convert a Non-Cali bike to a Cali legal bike? I'm thinking of moving...
If you're moving it wont be a problem. If you were in CA to begin with and purchased out of state, then the issues arise.

I paid 10,100 OTD on my 07' 750 here in Central Texas . I would say that is a pretty good price, you might be able to get them down a little. I think I over paid for mine since it was the first one sold in Texas. Oh well, I WANTED IT !!! :D

I got mine for $10,800 OTD in San Diego. I couldn't find it for under $11,500 anywhere in the bay area.

My wife and I were down there visiting her mom and we decided to go for it and ride it around all weekend while her mom was watching the kids. :)

I picked up my 07 750 in Sacramento for 10,200 OTD... That price you got is a good one. You may have better luck asking for Gear at cost. The bike is at bottom margin at that price. I live in Ca, Bay Area and no one could match that price. Next best was 10,500. And as far as an out of State bike you don't want to mess with that here in California. I did it and you have to have 9000 miles on the bike before they will register it. And once you do that you're locked into those miles. When you go to sell it you will be in a world of hurt trying to explain why you really only have a few thousand miles and not 9,000.

Most of the shops in SD wanted over $12k OTD.

well count yourselves lucky guys - a k7 750 in the UK costs ÂŁ7900 brand new - thats $15,500 to you!!!! :eek :eek :eek

Our taxes are ridiculous!
Thats alot of tax.....how do you grow your economy if you cant afford to pay the tax to buy things.....they should give all you Britts. a bike for free......then don't import replacement part;s or [bit's as you call them.]and start a big service industry........thats what made the U.S. so strong in the auto market years ago .....we lost that... now the power comes from our vanity and pride and after market parts ..that we make here ...we americans are so full of ourselves ..we wont wear helmets so other people can see our faces ...you can come to the U.S.take the all the brand new original factory parts we take off and store in our car ports and build yourself a stock bike ...in the name of vanity you can have brand new stock ..fenders ;tails;chains sprockets ;rims ;wind Shields;seats ;foot rests;all lights;turn singles I don't even want to start on exhaust systems....the only thing we know what to write about is the newest add on....and the stuff always looks ridiculous in a few short years.....were the look at me people..

Well boys, the place that quoted me that price does not have the grey in stock. I got the whole special order speal and that it would take a couple of months to get more in.

So I grabbed my ankles and just paid 11,000 OTD at my local dealer. I didn’t want to drive around and hassle, plus when I called other dealers to see if they had the gray in and what their OTD price was, almost everyone would not give me a price over the phone. They all wanted me to come down. I wanted the damn bike today and just paid the 11k.

My rear is in pain, but what the hell, she is a beauty. Thanks to all who replied.
