I've had some bad experience with Joe Rocket and heard a bunch of bad things about their products while at the same time many praise JR gear. It seems like they make real shitty gloves...my friend has a pair that is falling apart and as you can see others are also saying to stay away from their gloves. It seems like their cheap priced leathers are in fact very cheap quality but I understand that their higher end jackets are quality. You must always remember that you get what you pay for so if you buy a $150 JR jacket, dont expect much from it.

sweet i ordered my gloves from there...but im stuck on a debate between two jackets....joe rocket reactor-s(link http://street-bikes.ridegear.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/shop/Jackets/F-7005_Reactor_S_Jackets.html? ) or First Gear Blade Jacket ( link http://www.newenough.com/firstgear_blade_jacket_page.htm )

im kinda leanin towards the joe rocket because i can wear it with more things, but kinda swaying back towards the first gear jacket because it's leather.... as you can see my budget for the jacket is around 150-210 cuz thats all i got=(

*side note - this will be my first biking jacket, newbie

Between the jackets, I'd be inclined to get the First Gear....This ain't no Fashion show...Dress for the crash....

What with everybody on this forum slammin' Joe Rocket, I thought I'd add my .02 (1.3 Cdn). I've got the JR Stingray jacket... I have no complaints about it other than it doesnt' have the full zipper to attach to my pants (just the stupid little 8"r). Wearing it in the avatar, not that you can see much of it. Even have matching JR gloves (stingray) and although they aren't coming apart at the seams, I will be looking at a better glove for more protection. They're just a simple leather glove, and a bit tight fitting. They've been a good glove for around town, but haven't found the glove I want to replace my oldest set (that I wore out) yet for the faster runs...

I have two JR jackets, a Blaster leather and a Phoenix mesh. I haven't had any trouble with either of them in a year and a half of usage. I'm sure other brands such as Alpinestars or Spidi are better quality but JR is still a good deal and will still protect you. I was a little wary of the mesh jacket in the beginning but I've personally seen a Phoenix crash tested at 80 mph. The mesh jacket is definitely a one-time-deal and got pretty torn up but the guy walked away uninjured.

This is from another post I have just posted..............

Thought I'd let you know that Joe Rockets Customer Service is great.

I came off my 2003 GSXR1000 last year whilst wearing my Joerocket Highside Suit. The suit stood up well and is slightly scuffed but totally usable. However, the patch on the right hand shoulder took a pounding and the face of it is torn which lets water in and it doesnt look to pretty.

I recently emailed JoeRocket in America to ask where I could buy a replacement patch here in the UK. Thier Customer Service Manager "Todd" emailed me back thanking me for wearing JoeRocket and said he would send me a patch free of charge.

1 week later I recieved 7 patches and numerous other JoeRocket stickers.

THATS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE from JOEROCKET. If only other companies would follow suit (-:
