Have "96 750. After more power, mid and bottom end. All prev mods done incl. race exhaust, ignition advancer, dyno time etc... Have not swapped any cogs yet. I hose guys out of medium speed corners, and have had comments like "had one of those once, 2 slow" from guys on new thousands, change their minds after the tight and twisties!!! I can ride well, but looking for a bit more out of the corners. Not looking for outright speed, just more punch at midrange, as if the SRAD had any midrange, its either 8500 rpm to 12500 rpm or nothing. Should i engine swap from a later model 750, or totally rebuild the motor...? Would do capacity increase, cams, headwork and the rest if i chose to keep the motor i have. I want reliability for limited street riding and track days. No I don't want a 1k, happy with the handlin of my bike, and had it since new. Thanks:cheers

the biggest improvement i have seen on those model srad's comes from changing out the powerbands and the piston return springs. try those mods out, and get back to us.

To get as much power as you want you will most likely find it more feasible to buy a used newer 750 and really wax them.

Figure just to get 32 rwhp I spent $8k in the motor alone. If you want more off the corner. Make sure you get a new 520 chain and sprocket kit and get the sprocket size at -1 front and +3 on the rear. That will give you plenty of grunt off the corner.

Tell the guys on the 1k to learn to ride their bikes too.

i have never tried the johnson rods myself, but it sounds like you have, and you liked them.

the elusive j-force exhaust is hard to come by, but if you can find one get one.

I got da conneczions dawg.

My new K6 1000 is going for 200 mph real world tunning so I can hit the big 200 in stock trim. Helz yea.

Never tried them myself, but I know some people that have. I hear the biggest draw back is that you must take a great deal of care to lube them properly and break things in before riding hard.

And they don't make them for the 1K. All one 1Ks have Johnsons stock.
