So a while back I asked if it was a good idea to buy a bike late in the season, i got some pretty good responses so i went for it, i tired getting the lowest price possible i think i got an ok deal but i should have worked for a lower price. so here she is with just a few cosmetic mods nothing big, ill do more when i get back from oki JP. what do you guys recommend for mods?

Okinawa? i spent 2 years there in the USAF and loved it. have fun. ask the locals about BC street. bring rubbers.
anyway, for mods the sky and your bank balance is the limit.
stuff that works? here is some of what i did:
Remove the SET valve. (search this forum for a how to w/pics) there are a few ways to do this but I feel the best is to fully remove the unit not just trick it into being wide open.
Adding a BMC filter, M4 (and later a Yosh Cyclone) slip on and PCIII w/custom map will add 10-14RWHP. You’ll lose 10lbs or so by ditching the stock exhaust.
I put a 2004 R1 throttle tube on so I could get to WFO faster. This helped at the track but I think it’s a good mod all around and it’s easy to do and cheap. $16.00 from bikebandit.com
Get the suspension set up for your weight riding style. This will help more if you are a trackday guy than it will on the street.
The stock damper was ok at 1st for me but as the season wore on and I got faster I needed and adjustable one. Some have changed to a heavier oil with success. (again, do a search)
Go up 2 teeth (to a 47T) rear sprocket. Initially I did this and the little bit I rode on the street with mine it was great. Once I went to full trackbike I also went -1 on the front. My thoughts are that would not be necessary for the street.
Frame/swingarm/bar sliders are good lowside/tip over protection. I had the cut style at 1st then went to no cut, both from Shogun, when I put my trackbodywork on. Both are good and should do the job.
Other than that there are countless bling items you can add depending on what you like.
have fun.

hey everybody thanks for the positive replies, i'm kinda hesitant on saying what i paid for the bike cause it was so late in the season and i could have gottne it for a lot less, or i could have just waited for the 07s but i only have a month be home (which is coming to an end) and i needed the rush i get from when i ride, it had been almost 2 and half years since i had ridden a bike so i had to get it while i had time, i bought the bike on sept 15, like i said late very late in the season and paid 10 OTD yes i know pretty high but i was just happy to be on a bike again, so thank you all for your replies and help, and thank you all the support, you all thank me for being in the service and i say no problem, i do it with pride!

i was there 22 years ago so maybe BC has been cleaned up. it was not far from the main gate of Kadena. lot's of strip clubs and ho's. kind of like a mini P.I. right on Oki. that was before aids/herpes when all you needed was a shot of penicillin and you were back in the saddle. good times...
