I was loading my bike up for an 11am appt. with GMD compurak to get suspension work done. Well I did not have no help, long story short bike fell over in back of the truck. I lost balance and let it down easy though. Put a little dent in my tank, no sratches though. To anyone other than me, you can't even really notice it. I was quite surprised. But I know it's there, you know what I mean> If there was anyway to get enough leverage to the inside I know it would pop right out. It's just below the S emblem on the tank. Anyone care to suggest anything or just leave it alone. thanx:cheers

if it did not crease the metal, i would just leave it alone.

if it creased the metal, i would replace the whole tank.

I feel your pain.. Mine fell lastnite when I was trying to make a really tight right turn on a driveway towards the street.. just hate doing slow turns :cursing .. My bike was parked on the sidewalk. When I was turning, I felt the engine was about to die so I stopped but soon realized my right foot was too high off the pavement. The bike starting laying down and my right leg just didn't enough leverage to hold the bike up. So it landed softly on it's right side. Got some small nicks only on the stock pipe, frame slider, and right side mirror. Fairings are totally untouched. It ain't too much of a big deal to others but for me, it still bothered me a little bit because the bike used to be spotless and looked brandnew. I also sprained my right knee a little bit in the process :hammer ..

That's crazy. I wrecked into the side of a car that pulled in front of me and picked the bike up without a scratch. Fucked the other cars door up and broke the mirror off.

Well I have joined this club now. Got mine on 7 July and dropped it on 9 August. I was cleaning the chain after driving in the rain. well anyway I don't have a stand. i was off the bike pushing it backwards and it started to lean to the right. The weight shifted and next thing it was on its side. Just did minor scratches on the fairing right were the motor case is. It still sucks to drop your bike for any reason but at least you don't get hurt and as long as nothing breaks it is ok.

LOL no that was before I put it on. I love the bracket. You need to put those on ebay. You can't really see the dent(crease), I'm really surprised of how soft it landed. Woke up today with my shoulder hurting though. I'm not really woried about it since I could'nt really see it until I really looked the bike over.

I can relate. I did that once but sacrificed my body...hurt real, real bad.
Larry I thought that was your uh friend.:D I've been lucky so far. After reading so many posts like this it has become second nature for me to always check the kick stand. Also I always check the ground for debris wherever my feet are going to be.

Well dropped mine again, this time on the left side. I was checking the oil and had the kickstand up. I know better but decieded to hop off quick and check. well i started to stand up and the weight shifted and bam Bike Down. Nothing broke and only got minor scratches. I look at it this way i will drop it all day long as long as nothing breaks and i don't crash at 30 plus MPH. Sure you get mad but hey it could be worse much worse.

Doh not again. One thing I keep reminding myself when the bike is not moving is to slow down. Sending you some rep for being honest about it.:punk

That sucks man. A couple of weeks ago me and my friend were coming back from the Cassoday ride and we pull into the gas station and when i went to put my kickstand down i guess it hit this little hump in the stall and popped back up. Before i knew it was up i was already leaned over too far on my bad ankle and couldn't keep it up. I stayed under it so i ended up raming my knee into his swingarm and the only thing that hit his bike was my mirror. I came away with no scratches but scuffed his plastic down on the bottom. If anyone knows a good way to get it out pm me and let me know, i want to get it fixed for him.

Not sure where your from but in Tx there is a place called dent busters or some thin like that, I think they use dry ice to pop the dents out. Might look into somethin like that for the tank

Since this is my first bike I am learning to be more careful when the bike is not moving. But it is always better to drop it then to crash it. LOL. Hope no one gets any serious damage from these little mishaps.
Dewayne.
Can't argue with that.:punk
