both of them are right

you don't need power, u need seat time

when you can honostly tell me you've used up what a 600 has to offer - then we can talk.

sorry its true. But for power a full system is about the only way. thats going to still be a grand.

When are you bringing back the fur?

suspension is a plus
When i first started riding a sport bike I was all into wanting mods and power and looks. Then I found what it is to ride to my potential not that of the bike
I changed sprokets and added a tre etc.... ask gimp I used to PM him with questions all the time
Now that I have experience (not that I am a pro by any means) I know the bike needs nothing but gasoline and confidence.

Changing the front sproket is something that is cheap easy and is a def change that you notice quick.

Couldn't agree more, experience + confidence = better performance. I went through the same exercise adding a tre, 1/5 turn throttle mods and all that crap, now I'm back to stock (except for the sprocket) and enjoying it more. Suzuki got the bike pretty much right in the first place.

Ok so what if he doesn't go on the track, you guys didn't help him at all:hammer

In my opinion, and if you already have a PC then go get it mapped. I am in the process of maping my bike and just yesterday alone I noticed a huge difference. It's F%#$ing nuts what a crappy map will do to your bike vs. putting a good one on there.

I'll be posting my results when I am done, its to bad you don't have a 600 (unless your name isn't reflecting what bike you have) or else Id let ya try the map I come up with.

i'll just go straight to your question regardless if you know how to ride to max or not. me don't care. you ask, you get answer.

not sure what you mean by simple mods...

what most people do:
* air filter that allows more flow (mostly racers)
* V stacks
* install a full system and get custom mapping (done in conjunction with both above)
* heck, a top racer here even noticed more HP just from the oil he used

not so simple:
* engine work (gaskets, cranks, etc.)

there are some that put a 1k cams into a 750. labor work varies across the board, but a top 750 racer who won the 04 afm championship had 1k cams on his 750. it's suppose to put 10 hp or so? not sure. i don't plan on doing it to my bike.

i can promise you have a track near by. for as far as I drive for a track, it all depends how bad you want to go.

for performance yes full system ONLY with a map - or you're not getting the full benefits.

best money spent after protective gear/seat time: suspension - not the full system

and the map you ahve on your bike isn't crappy. who ever it was - ya it might smooth it out some if u map a stock bike, but post your numbers. your NOT going to get power from it and that's what the kid wants to know. So spending $250 for the PC and $200 for a custom map - is it worth it for 1hp at best?

now... best change for your ride for fun factor and almost NO cost to you.
do -1 front, and (+1 or +2) rear on your gearing. You might spend $100 at best if you did the front and rear sprockets, or just $25ish for just the front. You can use your stock chain, and have plenty of fun with her. I still recommend just getting used to her first then doing the change, that way you can appreaciate it more.

i DL'd the map but what do you use to open with?
u have to have the program. meaning - something (like paint) has to open the "paint" file and be able to read it. right now you have a program thats all jibberish 1's and 0's, that your computer has no idea what it is.
