I'm looking for backpack suggestions. I'd like one that is sturdy enought to carry a personnel computer. And I'd like it to also have straps that connect across the chest and stomach. Waterproof would be nice too. Anyone have one they like and would recommend?

I would check out Kriega at http://www.kriega.com/ I don't have one myself - yet that is. Have tried a friends and very pleased with fit and usability for riding.

You could always go with the Suzuki backpack. My g/f gave me one as a christmas present and it's pretty damn nice. It even has a way to carry your helmet when you're not wearing it. http://store.azmusa.com/suteba.html

That doesn't look like the highest quality backpack either...
I dont mind dropping bucks, but only if its for a good reason. "Suzuki" logo isn't a good reason.

Its been my bag I use on trips (carry on), I used it for 8 years of school, 4 years of surfing, 2 years of snowboarding (before I stopped taking a bag) and still going strong. I just had my first failure. One of the little peieces of cloth on the zipper came off (only there to make zipping easier, imagine a string on the zipper).
Also, look into military stuff.

My thoughts are...who cares what brand it is or whatever its just a bag that holds books n stuff. I bought a basic black one with a cd holder and what looks like a laptop pocket inside and a few other pockets here and there at walmart for like 20 bux and slapped on a reflector and its done its job. Why pay alot for just a bag? I guess if you wanted to you could always throw on one of those rope harness buckle things on? Ghetto fab style but again...just a bag. Just my opinion

I use to have the shoei backpack. I had a cell phone and a psp in it and they both survived an 80+ mph crash

here's the one I'm looking at getting. I wanted something bigger than average though. there's a review from a guy who uses it when he commutes on his motorcycle. I like the removable daypack.
