Thanks again, 86gixxer. The LTD shock was completely dead; it offered little resistance. So I just jacked up the preload on my original one, and buttered the mounting bearings. That abruptly quieted down the squeaking and such. It's working fairly well, I guess, but I'm taking the new shock to my buddies shop tomorrow to try and match up one from another bike.
Thanks for the tip on the swingarm bearings, but I already buttered those a couple weekends ago.
