where\'s worth riding?

greetings and salutations to all riders across the atlantic. I'm writing this post because i am curious about the riding over there.

I am planning on moving there, where exactly, is another story. I'm investigating that as we speak. I don't think london, it's just too pricey, but yeah. (any suggestions?) I am looking at somewhere in england. My question is, how's the riding? the comrodery amongst motorcyclists over here is high. same over there?

Is there a reason that i should just abandon this idea? i don't have a real agenda. I want to move, because i don't have a home or much family to speak of. and, we are not close. i don't think that my life will be better over there, but hey, it can't be worse, right?

anyway. yeah. if anyone wants to help me out with this, and who know's, start a pen pal thing telling me EXACTLY what it's like over there, i would love it. so yeah.

how is it over there? really?

wow. you must have been here. It's in the center of Illinois, which is in the Middle of the USA, which makes it rather flat, and the people are rather unimaginitive, so we get lots of straight roads.

If moving to uk I'd say move to the midlands, close to everything then and if you get it right less than an hour away from wales, welsh roads rule!

Come to the south of England, old chap - keep away from those horrid northern fellows and the savage sweaties north of the border.....
It's very civilised down here, and the weather is better (roads aren't quite as good, though)
It's also close to the continent (although that means it's close to those awful frenchies), so you can get on a train to Europe..

so, it sounds like anywhere has good roads, just the people suck. HA! j/k. i love the accents, and have no problems with understanding any of them.

Jeez you think you got it bad? You should HEAR the ... the deplorable way that the bastards here have RIPPED the language apart from it's very foundation.

North of the border has the best roads in the UK, although it tends to be the further north you get the worse the weather is, it's a bit of a trade off.

Re: where\'s worth riding?

I moved to Belgium a couple months ago. Everyone seems pretty friendly although I'd warn that some stuff is expensive. If you're thinking about some new leathers, etc I'd look at getting them in the states. I've gotten a couple issues of RIDE magazine - a UK motorcycle mag. Pretty informative, and the website for it and MCN have some forums where you could get an idea of places to ride, etc.

Cheers
Mike
