Okay so I have my 92 GSXR 750 and I've had it running and riding and now I can't seem to get the carbs to act right or sink right of rebuilt cleaned and put everything back together correctly two or three different times and I'm still pouring fuel out of my carburetors and my bike won't turn over now it won't start and it's backfiring like nobody's business what do I do any suggestions I don't want to give up on this bike considering the fact that I got it at such a low price

If fuel is pouring out,sounds like a needle-valve(s) is stuck open in the floatbowl(s)

But everything seems to be working correctly I literally just put them back together last night all new parts

I wrote this in your other thread, but since it's basically a duplicate, I moved it here should you decide to delete it (you should)


You probably need to replace the float needles. They are usually soft rubber and they deform and lose their shape, when that happens they won't shut off the fuel flow. Depending on how you cleaned the carbs, those rubber nipples will swell up in the presence of any carb cleaner or seafoam and stop sealing the reservoir. It's good practice to replace AT MINIMUM the float bowl gaskets and float needles the first time your into a set of carbs from a recently acquired bike.

If they aren't the rubber style, then you have either junk in the needle reservoir keeping it from closing, or the float height is not set right and they aren't shutting off the fuel when the bowl fills up. If this is the case, you can usually bend the little tab to adjust when the float pushes the needle into its seat. If you go too far you will starve the bike for fuel. Before you make any changes, take rhe carbs off the bike, set them on a bench perfectly vertical, connect a reserve fuel source and do what this guy does in this video to identify which carb is the culprit, and how far off it is, then drain and adjust.

No I didn't steal the bike I got it at a steal, I scored the bike for only $400 I have replaced all the floats all the needles and have done a total carb rebuild I have adjusted those tabs I have hooked to a fuel source and when it's off the bike it won't pour when it's on the bike it pours like I said I've already had this bike running and I've already ridden the bike

Sorry bud, I was just being funny. Where are they pouring out of? When you rebuilt them did you change every o ring and everything that is rubber? Maybe post a picture and put an arrow where the fuel is leaking from. That would help I think.

And yeah replaced every o-ring every float every needle every float needle everything I mean total complete overhaul on the carburetors

There's only one way for fuel to get to those. By overfilling the bowls. There's ones one way for fuel to get in the bowls. Through the float needle reservoir. Theres only one thing to stop that flow. The needles. Save yourself the guess work and check heights using the tube method.

It's also possible that your petcock is bad bad and the vacuum line but that wouldnt render the same results. One carb would bleed, the one with the vacuum line connected to the petcock and only while the bike was running. If all 4 are bleeding, something is going one with the floats /needles/reservoirs

I checked the float height I just put it back together and I can't do the tube test because I don't have nipples on the bottom of the carbs to hook a hose to there's just literally a hole in a flat surface on the bottom of the carb were they drain, are there any other test I can do

Shitty. I couldn't remember if they had it or not. I've seen some gsxrs do but it was a later year. Hmmm, let me think on it.
