Ok so I have enough rifles and my 21st birthday is coming up on the 28th, meaning I can buy a pistol. I have been shopping around looking at a few and found one that I really like. I was wondering if any of you could help me find something better, I want to spend no more than $500 since I'm buying stuff for the bike too. I am open to any suggestions that are semi-auto and .40 caliber.

Here is the gun I've been keeping my eye on...

Goddamn n00bs :phhht

Moved... :biggrin
Thank you, I did an immediate face palm after realizing there was a gun section.

keep in mind if you order online there's an out of state fee and other bullshit that you have to pay.
I live about 45 minutes from Cabela's so it's a short drive to go pick it up.

Go there. You need to fondle different guns and preferably shoot them before choosing. All good brand name guns these days are reliable so THE most important factor is that the gun fits YOUR hand.

It's just like helmets - it can be the best in the world on paper but if it doesn't fit YOU it's not optimal. It might even be near worthless for you.

When you pick up the gun and hold it naturally, the sights should line up by themselves. If you have to do major corrections to line them up it doesn't fit your hand. This is especially important in self defense situations.

Really depends on what you want it for. Self defense/personal carry? Home defense? Range gun?

For carry, I LOVE my Kahr P40. small, light, but big enough to pack a healthy punch

For a range gun, id go with something full sized though, Same for home defense, but then id want front rail for flashlight, laser, etc.

Fuck California, Again :lol

Here if I order one online, I would pay the FFL maybe $25 at worst to do the paperwork and transfer it to me, as well as the NICS check

:stupid

to test this, what I do is first ASK the gun store if they have a designated "point" area. Some do. Ask first. Finger off triger of course. look at a target of some sort about the size of a coke can if you can. Stare at it, then close your eyes, and raise the pistol in a combat grip to where you think the target is. Open eyes.

did it fall on target naturally? Are the sites more or less aligned in your hand naturally?

try again. This time picking it up naturally, not concentrating on a particualr grip. still close? if so it fits you. If not, look at a different gun.

Well the main hit was taxes. I didn't think that i had to pay them since i ordered online. So taxes tehn like 80 bucks for the out of state transfer crap and 25 for my handgun certificate. Didn't know that i needed that either but it was a bullshit test. You literally have to be fucken retarded to fail that test.

Some states now have sales tax even on the internet. I guess CA is one of them. Seems the others are like TX and NJ or something like that. Complete guess there.

GA I only pay tax if the store I order from is actually IN GA.
