Next time you do your spark plugs check it out. Realized my camera lens was broken when I took that pic. Got the Google 4a now and hopefully will get a better shot. Going to be doing some work on the bike soon and I will be in that area to retake pic.

In the valve cover? Probably something used in a different market, or for manufacturing/assembly purposes. Could even be for mounting a tool of some kind (spark plug hole repair, etc.).
