I remember when the first pics of the K5 came out and most of us were happy Suzuki did not follow the latest trend for undertail exhausts. IMHO, the exhaust mfg's should build some traditional pipes for the R1, CBR 1000, 636. Some bikes look good with them, but the extra weight, bends, and heat and aero's don't do it for me.

It would be interesting to see what the difference would be both in weight, powerband and overall numbers, appearance and viewer feedback.

There is a similar article in this month's Sport Rider (the one with the 1000cc comparison).
It speaks of the same issues about the length of the tube having a negative effect on being able to create the vacuum of back pressure that a good exhaust system makes. Functionally, they are truly suited for V twin production motorcycles since the rear cylinder is pointing towards the rear.

I do have to admit - they do look nice, but that's about it.
