2 weeks ago, you started a thread 'leathers at the gas station?' Now at the supermarket?

I like to wear mine all day at the office and when I take the wife out for dinner so let's just settle that you don't have to keep asking if it's OK to wear leathers in various environments. You be you.

A rider left all his gear on, including face shield down, at a Walmart. The store manager called the cops on him. He'd passed through checkout by the time that they arrived and arrested him - releasing him without filing any charges after 17 hours in confinement. The manager told him he was now banned from all Walmarts and Sams Clubs. He sued and the last I heard had turned down a $250,000 settlement offer.

Bill, I'll be the first to point-out that you're not prone to exaggeration but you have to admit, that story sounds a bit urban myth-ish. Pulling into a Walmart fully-suited? Sure..... Not taking off the lid and doing your shopping with the visor down, even through checkout?

I'd be blinded by fog before I made it in the front door lol. If the cops did arrive and investigate, leading to a 17 hr detention, then something else had to be up.

EDIT: post a link! That sounds like a funny enough story to read.

^There's a youtube video including Walmart store security showing him getting off the bike and walking around the store plus cop video of him being harassed and illegally arrested. I'll post a link if I can find it. The arresting cop came off as a biker hating asshole.

I admit he looked strange with the helmet on and face shield down. As I recall, he was on his way to work that morning and wanted to make a quick stop. He claimed to have earphones on playing music that made it hard to hear what was going on around him while in the store, though the manager's attempt to speak to him was rather feeble. Unless he turned them up after getting off the bike he could have been legitimately ticketed for riding with them.

P.S. That's it in #8 below. I'm unaware of Walmart posting a sign at store entrances requiring riders to remove their helmets and/or raise their shields. I regularly shop at the grocery store with full gear on except for gloves & helmet and, pre Covid, used to withdraw cash from ATM's with my helmet on. Le Skid's condensation would come from being in Canada, where it's rarely above 40 °F.:giggle:

I have wore my helmet in a store last summer, when I didn't have a mask. I think my shield was up though.
Now I can CC in a WalMart, or other stores, AND wear a mask LOL
Didn't get arrested, or hassled though. Damn, I could have been rich?

I've worn my full leather in all sorts of places, but the helmet usually comes off.
