thanks to all who helped me with the diagnoses of this bike you all sure know how these things work.!
new cdi box and starter she purrs nicely I removed the fuses for the alternator and tested her out no problems, exept the voltage regulator problem. When I put the fuses back I attached a multi meter to the battery it ran 13.5-13.9 volts at idle. as it warmed up it increased to 14.2. I just let it idle for about 10 minutes when it seemed to warm up it started to rise to 15 volts and this is at idle so I killed the motor.(not having this problem again.!!) so the voltage reg is shot right.?
is there a way to integrate a newer voltage reg and find a place for it on the frame or what.?? do I just need to replace the whole thing

I'd get the one of ebay. That's just me though. If that one is bad, then I would repair both alternators and have a spare. You can never have enough spares with these bikes.
