Hey everyone i have an 05 750 with 1700 miles on it. I have been getting a valvetrain noise on startup. It almost sounds like the timing chain is slapping the cover, as soon as the bike warms up it goes away. Is this normal or should i take it in?

IF your timing chain was loose enough to slap the case like that, then the bike would most likely be out of time, and you would know. More than likely dropped a valve. I am sure its something else, I wouldnt worry about it being on the Timing chain, if you are, then take it in now, because if that chain is loose/damage/broke whatever, get it fixed now before it breaks. And you know what, interference motors dont like timing chains breaking. And your patience wont like how long it will sit at the dealership.

Mine was doing that as well and got worse with time.
I had 2500 miles on the oil (suzuki) which I changed and used synthetic.. Noise gone instantly.
