I am wanting to have a faster/shorter throttle response with out buying a special kit for my 2014 gsxr 1000. Can it be done?

the guys glue a zip tie around the throttle cam in order to make is bigger and therefore making the throttle response faster and shorter

No, I don't think anyone does that.

Either you do the R1/R6 throttle mod, or you buy the Motion Pro unit, which is well worth it.

+1 on the above opinions of the zip tie method. That's a Shervin mod. People have also made a bushing from PVC pipe. You're playing with the primary engine control. You could die if it goes bad.

The R1 mod is midway between OEM and the R6 mod. R1 is bolt-on. R6 needs some moding of the housing.
