So here we go,back where I belong before its to late ...

First a big hello to anyone who opens this thread because if you like me have a soft spot for the later oil cooled 1100's you are in for a treat !!!!

Now I bet I'm the same as everyone else on here"if u aint got a picture it did'nt happen" ... Everyone likes a pic and Ive got plenty seeing as I started this "trip" back in 1993 when a friend of mine who ran a bike shop in Clapham London that did crash repairs rang to ask if I was interested in a 2 year old 8k miles GSXR1100M that he was just finishing and it was only £3000 ??

After we discussed if grizzlies did poo in the bushes,I found out why ... it had such a hard frontal it needed a new frame plus the front engine mounts were cracked on the casings,
back then if you cut the headstock off your damaged frame you walk into a Suzuki dealer and order a new "blank" frame as long as you handed over the old headstock with the vin stamped on it,

I can still remember today 2 things about that midnight ride from Clapham to Kent,1,it was mental fast and had so much torque compared to my GPZ1000RX I'd just sold and 2,the Eagle "SS" exhaust note was so loud there was'nt a car alarm safe as I rode home....

Fast forward to today and I still have my reframed 1100M "Evo 2" heres how it looked when I picked it up (love the colour)

The next pic well ... thought it would be a good idea to paint the bike to match my new "Kushitani" Leathers that was until I picked it up from M.A.D Designs !!

Pay attention to the look of calm and "at one with the bike" in the first pic as I enjoyed an earlier session on the GP Full circuit at Brands Hatch in all its "pearlescant splendor"(paid a lot for that POS look) Compared to the next pic,pay attention to the clues here of some one no longer "at one",the eyes are probably not telling the whole story because not only had I found both mine and the bikes limit, forks bottomed out ,me leaning the wrong way, belly pan dragging along taking my pearly paint with it well just out of shot is my mate Colin on his new Fireblade the new kid in town and I was'nt letting him pass as we come out of the last corner,he didnt cos I lowsided into the kitty litter.

End of part one .... Any one who has got this far come back tomorrow for Part 2 as it gets good including 2 Performance Bike magazine "Specials",The first is July 99 featuring the "Widow Maker" My friend Zaks "Evo 1" 7/11M the inspiration and part builder of my "Evo2" ,Zaks "Evo 1" a first time build of perfection is a sight worth sharing so bear with me while I have to scan both copies as its well worth it,Worth Remembering that we did this 20 years ago

Regards Sandro

right on! i remember reading Performance Bikes, Fast Bikes, and Superbike magazines in the 90's and early 2000's. way better than the amercian magazines.

i had an 1986 GSXR 750 with a gloss black front wheel and bright white rear wheel. probably got the idea from your fotos. good memories.

thanks for sharing.
