Anyone interested in viewing my bike, I updated my photo album.

For now I'm having it prepared to be roadworthy. Looking forward to riding this type of bike as opposed to my first: 2000 GSX-R750.

Been watching some "Cafe Racer" videos on YouTube and interested in making that transition...but that's down the road. Right now I just wanna ride.

Good looking bike. One of our guys is going to look at a '78 750 this weekend, all original and one owner. The guy rode it off the lot new back in 1978....

^^Thanks! I always welcome positive comments. I'd like to see pics of it if your co-worker does in fact, buy it.

Trying not to let people discourage me about buying an old bike. If I had this bike new when it came out in 1982, I would be 16 and getting all the girls!

I'm on a GS site and getting tips on how to dismantle the bike and put it back together...this of course after I buy another bike...which I haven't decided what it will be...but leaning towards 1986-1992 GSX-R750. We'll see.

NOTE: I'm told I have the seat from a 1979-80 GS750L. This model is a 1982 GS750TZ. Seat and tank are not properly secured and the hoses are exposed on the left side.

Actually that is a four valve GSX model a GS 750 is a two valve air cooled model.
Look into fitting a Kawasaki aftermarket Z1 type steering Damper,The Two valve GS750 handled very well,The GSX Four Valve Model was a bit sketchy in High Speed stability,So bad in fact in the Australian State of Western Australia the Police got sick of scraping riders off the tarmac and instigated a safety recall requiring Suzuki to retrofit Steering dampers to the bikes,You have been informed so check it out and save your Ass from some embarassing rubber side up in the future.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm teased about my GS being a "Go Slow" but from what you're saying, it's quite the opposite. I knew it was a 16 valve job with about 70 horsepower...which by no means is tame.

NOTE: The model is known as a GSX everywhere else but in the States.

The "T" model is the sportier version of the "E" model with a nice teardrop tank that resembles the Triumph Bonneville of the 1950/60s. From what I've learned, it was only produced in 1982-1983.

I wondered too why Suzuki only put a single disk brake in the front. It shouldn't be too difficult to get the forks from the "E" model and swap it out.

I haven't taken my bike out for a spin yet; it's in the shop AWT parts. But rest assured, I will take it easy on this bike as it is completely different from the beast I just let go.

After my first ride this past weekend, I pulled both cars out and parked my baby solo in the garage. I had to make some adjustments to the clutch cable because the tension nearly killed my left hand. I pulled the cable and spayed some WD40 in the barrel and then put some engine oil on the cable making sure there wasn't anything obstructing its travel.

Then I spent some time revving her up and listening to her idle. She'll be fine for now but eventually, she'll need an engine rebuild. Start saving now because I'll only perform the task if I have another bike to ride in the meantime.

I'm told an engine rebuild will cost about $1500 and the bike's worth is only a fraction of that. That's why I would take my time with the rebuild as long as I have another bike to ride. I could see myself owning 2 bikes in the future.

Nice. Love the old GS bikes.
I had an '80GS1000S. When it had 65k miles on it I stuck an '83GS1100E Engine in it.
A VERY easy swap! I regret ever selling that bike.

The poster that said it should be a 2 valve engine is probably confused with the 1980 and earlier 750's. At least here in the USA the 750 was 4 valves per from '81 on.

I've been enjoying my rides on sunny weekends (they've been far and few) so I haven't really spent a lot of time cleaning my "T". Although this past weekend, I took some Liquid Wrench and cleaned her up. This is a before picture of the chain:



I didn't take after pics but the chain & sprocket did clean up well.

The side covers are getting my attention and I need to paint them black to break up the colors. The chain cover,pipes, and rims need some cleaning and I will try aluminum and water and on the chrome and see how that works out.

I will ride to work tomorrow--WooHoo!:punk

Started a mini clean-up on my bike...she's got rust, dirt, and grime all over her but she is getting a little attention this weekend.

The weather's not that great but I bought a heater and a rolling chair so it's some consolation for working in the elements.














I've started to accumulate some parts for my "T" and also learning how to put her back together. Simply enjoying this bike...I don't wanna part with her and my plan is...not to.

Nice, the old bikes are fun. I got a new silver 83 GS750E when I graduated from college. The bike was pretty good stock once you put pads & stainless lines on.
The rubber lines were awful back than. I sold it about 6 years ago finally, I wish I hadn't. The pics aren't mine, I have to get around to scanning in some of my old pictures.
