2002 GSXR 1000 caliper brake pad pin fell out on Sunday while riding!!!
Yes the one that goes through the holes in the pads! Anyway no real harm done but the pads dropped down and rubbed on the rotor buttons.

Why is their a cotter pin on the 750 calipers to hold the brake pad pin in place if something like this happens but not on the 1k's?
Anyway I took the brake pad pin out of my spare 750 calipers and installed them in the 1k's with the cotter pin for safety so this can't happen again!

Damn Keith... Glad you're OK!


I always put just a hint of blue loctite on the threads of those bolts as well as using a cotter pin (actually, I use safety wire). Use too much & you'll never get 'em out, but use just a smidgen & it secures them really well.

02 750's don't have the pin either - I asked this a long while back and nobody knew why they changed the design...

Ya I noticed this too, for some reason the '02's don't have them, my friends '01 750 has them...I think I'll just take them out since his been stuck at Iceland for the last 3 years
