i am thinking to change my thermostat with one with lower working temperature (maybe 76 celcius) to see if the fluctuation of the temperature stops (90C-78C)..
common "problem" on the k9s.. does anyone know the dimensions of oem thermostat??

searched for oem and yamahas and they told me 7-10 days to receive..
so i found one in a car shop ..
its japan made and opens also at 82c..
just to know mine was not working properly (it was opening on 90c-93c )
and mine isnt the only k9 that after some miles (over 12000miles) started working over the 82c point manual refers.. so keep an eye on your t-stat.. for this reason i changed it for an aftermarket with 82c.

Is it just me or is ancient thread resurrection a new thing in 2021? It of course has always happened to some extent but lately, it seems ~75% of new guys ONLY dig-up ancient topics.

Even one old-timer Norwegian asshole seemed to make a point of ONLY responding to old, dead threads.

I’ll take them responding to an old thread after they search over them not searching at all and asking a question that would have been answered with a single search.

These fluctuations can be associated with coolant flow patterns in the water jacket plus the temperature sensor being located too close to the thermostat. A baffle will sometimes help. But it takes a bunch of experimentation.

Mike's posts tended to be informative so I was sorry to see him vanish. Ditto Tim Radley.
