We just picked up a 1988 750 Slingshot and 93 front and rear rims and swingarm. Could anybody take the guess work out of this for me? Can the whole set up be used? Will a 180-55-17 tire work? Please let me know what I'm getting into.

The 93 Swingarm bolts right on. The 93 uses the same Pivot bolt dai and axle dia as your 88. The 94-95 750 Arm had a larger pivot bolt and a larger axle. The 93 rear wheel should bolt right on (of course). For the front if you are using the 88 forks you will need to match the wheelbearings 93 outer dia to the 88 front axel inner dia. The forks on mine are currently 93 750 as well. I think I saw a set of 93 forks for sale here a while ago. Here is a pic of the 93 arm on my 88 7-11.

Thanks, do the rotors up front work too? Once the bearings are switched, it's a direct bolt on? Any idea on just using the 93 wheel on the 88 swingarm?

The 3 wheel will bolt in place of the 88 as well. Same axlesize, rotor and sproket. As for the front rotors they are the same from 88-95 on the 750 and 89-98 on the 1100 except some are sloted and some are drilled (drilled looks more sporty).

Will a 93 swingarm bolt onto an 86 frame? I have a 92 1100 front end that works well (it's just really heavy). But I wouldn't mind a different swingarm on the rear. I can squeeze a 170 on there but the swingamr maxes out at that.

I don't know about your 86. In 85-87 I was into Yamaha RD400's I did not switch to four strokes until 88 with my 88 GSXR 750 (Now a 7-11, yes I've had it fron new) I have swaped all kinds of parts on the 88-92 chassis and can tel you lots about them. I am going to embark on a project soon using a 85 750 frame and a GT750 two stroke engine so I will probably know alot more by the end of that project. Maybe Simon or Mr. Gixxer can help.

the 85,86 have a diff linkage setup on the swingarm, it can be changed but some parts have to be fabricated do a search back over about the last 60 days on swingarms etc and theres lots of info on how to do it. I have a 90 style arm on my 86 750 the 94,95 braced arm will not fit a 750. The bannana arm is very heavy does give more exhaust clearance than the 90 style, wasnt any stronger than the 90 style in tests that I did on them.
