The GP-TRE is an advanced Timing Retard Eliminator which preserves the function of the OEM dash gear position indicator. All of Suzuki's late models sportbikes have electronic circuitry which retards the ignition timing in the first four gears and on some models the first Five gears, which also reduces horsepower. Another problem which is caused by the ignition timing being retarded is a choppy throttle response. For road racers this is very critical since it will upset the drive off the corner. This GP-TRE effectively solves this problem! Most other brands of TRE's select the 5th gear ignition curve for all gears. On some of Suzuki's late model bikes including the 2007-08 GSXR 1000 and the 2008-11 Hayabusa Suzuki uses the same ignition curve for 1st through 5th gear. This being the case the 6th gear ignition curve is the best curve for these models. Since ignition timing is critical in obtaining maximum engine performance the Suzuki GP-TRE will improve performance significantly more as compared to installing a Power Commander. This being the case the GP-TRE should be the first consideration. We have designed our GP-TRE to be easily configured to either 5th gear or 6th gear ignition curve depending on the application. Our Suzuki GP-TRE utilizes a programmable micro-controller with our own custom firmware for cutting edge technology.
