Yeah, preload until you get 30mm sag, campression, and rebound around middle ..ride it a LONG TIME that way then adjust the damping to your liking. There is UNIVERSAL setting due to weight tires temp etc.
I havent re-valved yet....sooo,in the mean time Im runnin it pretty much maxed out front and rear...with the adjusted sag. its a little bouncy over pot holes, but like the R1's Ive found it works. I feel this way, its more noticeable to adjust by softening it up...its hard to explain....I dunno...screw around with it...you'll find something ya like....thats how it works,trial and error.
