I have a 2007 gsxr 600 and I was wondering can you mount a newer year gsxr steering damper on? Say I buy a 2018 damper one of those Kyb ones that’s electronic would it still mount? Or what about a 2007 gsxr 1000 damper, would it fit my bike?
(Not sure if this is the right thread for this)

Why?
Are you planning to make DIY electrical adjuster for it?

+1 The solenoid gets a pulse width modulated signal. Without it, I think that it will be in full stiff. Something like this might might be able to control it (there are potential issues with the modulation frequency). But you'll have to adjust it manually unless you additionally measure the bike's speed and use it to automatically adjust the damping (that's what Suzuki does). Sounds like a serious project unless you have a background/skills in electronics.
